“Arsen, listen to me carefully.

Daven’s voice was low, weighted with emphasis. The black car carrying him sped down the main road of SunCity. He had to reach Callister Group headquarters as quickly as possible-before anything else could make the situati
spiral further out of control. Two escort vehicles flanked him, matching his speed. Beyond the tinted window, the bleak, uninhabited outskirts slowly gave way to rows of tall buildings. The city center was still some distance away, but it was getting closer.
“Yes, sir,” Arsen replied, trying to stay calm.
“Open access to the Jiangshe project archives,” Daven continued without preamble. “Phase two and three. All internal audit reports, cross-border transfer data, and correspondence with local partners.”
There was no immediate response on the other end. Instead, background noise bled through-shouts, hurried footsteps, something crashing to the floor.
“Mr. Daven,” Arsen said at last. His breathing was faster than usual; it sounded like he could no longer remain composed amid the chaos at headquarters. “I’m not sure I can do that, sir.”
Daven suppressed a growl. “Why? You know how critical the central archives are.’
“I do, sir, but… the situation here is chaotic.”
Daven pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. “Explain.”
“The prosecution entered about thirty minutes ago. They’ve sealed off multiple floors at once,” Arsen replied quickly. “The staff is panicking. Some finance divisions didn’t even have time to lock the archive rooms.”
Daven’s fingers tapped against the armrest. “The central servers?”
“They’re on their way there.”
“How long?”
“At most, twenty minutes, sir.”
Daven drew a deep breath. “Listen to me. Make encrypted copies of all data that never made it to the board of directors. Store them in private storage. Do not use the company’s internal network.”
“Sir, that’s risky.”
“I know,” Daven cut in coldly. “Do it. Now.”
A brief pause followed. “All right. I’ll try. But if they seize the servers-
}}
“If that happens,” Daven interrupted, “make sure there isn’t a single piece of raw data they can twist however they want.”
“Understood.”
The call ended. Daven lowered his phone slowly, his gaze fixed forward once more. The road ahead was clear, allowing the car to maintain high speed. He was racing against time-and hoping he wouldn’t arrive too late.

“Damn it,” he muttered.
Meanwhile, heading in the opposite direction-with a far larger convoy-Cale and Chris were on their way to a location they were almost certain Harold was using as a hideout. Their move wasn’t reckless. Another team had already been deployed ahead of them, surveilling the area and ensuring there were no suspicious movements.
“Faster,” Cale said coldly from the front seat of the lead car.
The driver nodded without a word.
Chris sat beside him; eyes fixed on the tablet in his hands. “Harold’s phone last pinged in the old harbor district. North of his previous location. From what I can see, it looks like an abandoned warehouse area.”
“Perfect place to disappear,” Cale murmured.
“Or to wait,” Chris replied. “He’s too confident to run now.”
Cale clenched his fist. “If we’re too late-”
“We won’t be,” Chris cut in firmly. “His business with Daven isn’t finished yet. Someone like Harold doesn’t leave before making sure everything has completely collapsed.”
The car made a sharp turn into a narrow road. Harbor lights began to appear in the distance-dim, sparse.
“Any word from Detective Aaron? We can’t let Oscar’s communication with Harold make him suspicious.”
