Naomi had prepared herself for her simple big day. At least, that was what she thought when she arrived with Lydia at one of the most luxurious hotels in Carrington Bay.

In her mind, they would simply look at a few venue options, then choose a room that was comfortable enough for their family and closest friends. She had even told Chris that she did not need a big celebration.

After everything that had happened in her life, Naomi only wanted a quiet day surrounded by the people she loved. That was what she had hoped for.

However, the moment the ballroom doors opened, she stopped in her tracks.

The room was so spacious and elegant that Naomi needed a few seconds to process what she was seeing. The high ceiling, crystal chandeliers, neatly arranged tables, and meticulously planned decorations made her turn to Lydia with an incredulous expression.

“What is this?”

Lydia held back a smile. “The ballroom.”

“I know this is a ballroom.” Naomi gestured around her. “I mean, why are we here?”

A soft laugh came from behind them. Cale, who had just arrived with several family members, simply slipped both hands into his trouser pockets with a relaxed expression.

“Because you're getting married.”

Naomi shot him a sharp look. “I know I'm getting married, Cale. But I never said I wanted to get married in a place this big.”

“Neither did I.”

“Then who did?” Naomi glared at Cale, who was now standing beside Lydia. She happened to see the man steal a quick kiss on Lydia's cheek. Inwardly, Naomi thought, What a shameless man. Being affectionate in public like this!

Cale shrugged. “Mr. Adam.”

Naomi let out a suppressed groan. She could already imagine what was going to happen next. “He really booked it?”

“He did.”

“Since when?” Naomi had never expected what Mr. Adam had said at the banquet to actually be carried out.

“A few weeks ago.”

Naomi let out a long breath. She had not even had a chance to protest when one of the hotel staff approached with a folder containing the preparation details. Before she could finish reading it, someone from the Devereux family arrived with another piece of news. The decorations were already being handled. The menu had already begun to be selected. Even some of the reception arrangements had been offered as gifts.

Naomi began to feel a throbbing in her head.
