The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 93

Rebecca’s expression was serious. “Yeah, but it didn’t seem like he recognized me.”

Then again, the last time she’d seen him, her face had broken out in an allergy rash, and she’d gone out of her way to make herself look as unappealing as possible. It made sense Jonas hadn’t recognized her.

Isabella took the business card from Rebecca and studied it. “Rebecca, he gave you his card and asked you to work for the Frost Group? Oh my god—do you think he’s into you?”

Rebecca just shrugged. “No idea.”

With that, she tossed the card into her purse without a second thought. “Come on. Let’s go. Forget about him.”

Meanwhile, Jonas drove his car to a less crowded spot, parked, and rushed back to the hospital entrance.

But by the time he returned, Rebecca was already gone.

He looked utterly frustrated, as if he’d just missed out on a million-dollar lottery ticket.

“No way. I have to tell Dylan about this right now,” Jonas muttered to himself.

Without even bothering to knock, Jonas barreled straight into Dylan’s office, excitement written all over his face, out of breath and practically shouting, “Dylan, I saw that goddess again!”

Dylan sat behind his desk, tall and imposing—nearly 6’3”—with a posture as straight as a pine. His meticulously styled hair only added to his air of mature composure.

He didn’t so much as flinch at Jonas’s outburst. His eyes narrowed, voice tinged with annoyance. “What goddess? And can you please stop bursting in here like this?”

Jonas could barely contain himself. He leaned forward, bracing both hands on Dylan’s desk, his words tumbling out in a rush. “The girl from the bar! Don’t you remember? The lighting was dim, sure, but the moment she walked in, it was like she brought her own spotlight. Those delicate features, that graceful figure, the way she seemed so out of this world—you couldn’t forget her if you tried!”

Jonas folded his arms, looking completely unconcerned. “Dylan, you’re too uptight. Fitch doesn’t even know what love is. Why should I step aside? Love is all about going after what you want.”

Dylan just shook his head, exasperated. “Keep this up and you’ll ruin your friendship.”

Jonas let out a low laugh. “Friendship? If he really saw me as a friend, he wouldn’t be competing with me in the first place. Besides, I’ve made up my mind about this girl—nobody’s going to stop me.”

He grinned slyly. “But if you’re interested, Dylan, I’ll back off. I know my limits—I’d never win against you anyway.”

Dylan set down his pen and leaned back in his chair, still as cool as ever. “Don’t forget, I’m married.”

Jonas sighed, though he couldn’t hide his smugness. “Exactly—since you’re married, this one’s not for you. But seriously, this woman is stunning—way beyond your wife’s league!”
