He knew his wife's temperament too well.
If she found out the woman he met today was her, Mrs. Austin would surely kill her.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Austin went back to her room and dialed the number of a private investigator.
Once a seed of suspicion is planted in a woman's mind, it's impossible to stop it from growing.
She wanted the investigator to watch Jacob's every move, find out which women he was in contact with, and who he was calling.
The investigator hesitated. "Ma'am, I'm not sure that's a good idea. If your husband finds out, he'll likely be very angry."
Mrs. Austin said coldly, "Just be careful and don't let him find out."
"Yes, ma'am."
......
The next day, Rebecca went to the office to see Dylan, but he wasn't there. She asked Dennis, "Dennis, where's Mr. Austin?"
Dennis replied, "Ma'am, the boss left on a business trip last night."
"A business trip?"
Dennis: "Yes, there's some trouble with one of our overseas branches that requires his attention."
"I see." Rebecca nodded, not thinking much of it, though she found it odd that Dylan would leave on a trip without telling her.
When she left work, Rebecca saw Samuel at the entrance.
He was sitting in his car, apparently waiting for her.
"Samuel, what are you doing here?" she asked in surprise.
