The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 57

Jonas’s eyes went wide.

Dylan, on the other hand, was perfectly calm. “Goodbye,” he said.

“Goodbye.”

With that, Rebecca climbed into the car without so much as a backward glance.

Jonas watched Rebecca’s retreating figure and swallowed hard. “Dude, Dylan, did you really marry her?”

Dylan shot him a sidelong look. “Is there a problem?”

“It’s just… I was expecting Ms. Thomson to be a bombshell. Came all the way here to have a look, and—well, seriously? That’s it?”

Jonas scrunched up his face in disbelief and complained again, “Man, she’s not pretty at all! Is she so desperate to get married that she just… settled for you?”

Dylan’s expression turned icy as he frowned. “Enough. Don’t let me hear you talk like that again.”

Jonas fell silent.

Protective already? They’d only just gotten the marriage certificate.

Dylan hadn’t had a woman in his life for years—had he lost his sense of taste? Was he really into someone like Becky, who seemed a little… off?

By the time Jonas gathered his thoughts, Dylan was already walking away.

“Hey, Dylan—where are you going?”

Without turning around, Dylan called back, “Barbershop.”

Jonas blinked, surprised. He stared after Dylan, confusion etched on his face. “What for? Your hair looks great as it is.”

Dylan didn’t answer.

Honestly, there was just no point trying to reason with someone with such zero sense of style.

Jonas watched Dylan’s determined stride, feeling helpless. He knew Dylan—once he made up his mind, nothing could change it.

“Alright, fine. I’ll come with you,” Jonas offered.

Suddenly, Isabella scooted closer. “Actually, Rebecca, I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”

“Go on.”

Isabella hesitated, her voice tinged with hope. “Rebecca, does William have a girlfriend?”

Rebecca narrowed her eyes, a sly smile tugging at her lips. “Why? Are you interested in my brother?”

Isabella’s eyes widened, and a blush crept across her cheeks. “Was I that obvious?”

Rebecca nodded. “You might as well have written ‘crush’ on your forehead.”

Isabella giggled, looking bashful, but her eyes sparkled with anticipation as she leaned in closer.

“So? Does he?”

Rebecca’s smile widened and she raised an eyebrow. “He’s single—fair game!”

Isabella’s face lit up with delight. She threw her arms around Rebecca in a grateful hug. “Thank you, Rebecca!”
