The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 496

Seeing the commotion, Garcia hurried to explain to the crowd, “You’ve misunderstood! I’m not kidnapping him—I’m his mom! He’s just joking with you all!”

“You liar! You’re not my mom!” Ethan protested loudly.

“Let go of Ethan!” At that moment, Noah darted forward and blocked Garcia’s path.

Aiden and Evan rushed up as well, one on each side, grabbing onto Garcia’s legs and tugging as hard as they could. “Let Ethan go, you meanie!”

The three boys banded together, fierce and determined to protect their brother.

Garcia tried to shake them off, but before she could, Ethan suddenly clamped down on her arm with his teeth.

“Ow!” Garcia yelped as pain shot through her hand, and Ethan tumbled to the ground.

“Ugh, you nearly broke my back,” Ethan grumbled, picking himself up and glaring at Garcia with his hands on his hips. “You’re in big trouble now!”

Realizing things were going south, Garcia panicked, grabbed the nearest child, yanked a few strands of his hair, and bolted.

“Stop her! Don’t let her get away!” Ethan shouted.

Now that people realized she might be a kidnapper, parents immediately sprang into action and chased after her.

Garcia’s heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might burst through her chest.

She leapt into her car and told the driver, “Go! Now!”

The black sedan sped off in an instant.

Behind her, the parents gave chase, but Garcia paid them no mind—she needed to get the hair sample and run a DNA test as soon as possible.

The entrance to the preschool was in chaos, with parents crowding around the four boys, anxiously checking them over.

The teachers hurried over too, trying to soothe Ethan, who was still wound up.

The boys wanted desperately to chase after Garcia, but the crowd blocked their way. All they could do was watch helplessly as the “kidnapper” got away.
