The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 423

Noah smiled faintly. “Mr. Dennis, now that you know who I am, I hope you’ll keep it to yourself. I’d rather not have too many people in on this.”

Dennis stared at him for a moment, caught off guard. “Not even Mr. Austin?” he asked.

Noah considered for a second, then shook his head. “No. We’re only working together for now, and we won’t have any more contact after this.”

At that point, Dennis was completely won over—he’d become Noah’s number one fan.

He nodded earnestly. “Don’t worry, young master. I’ll keep your secret safe. I’m here to serve you and Mr. Austin, and I know when to keep my mouth shut.”

Noah nodded, satisfied.

Then Dennis turned to Rebecca. “Ma’am, you have some remarkable genes—your son is brilliant.”

Rebecca’s smile was warm and proud. Ever since she’d learned the truth about Noah, she’d been bursting with pride. But she knew Noah’s intelligence wasn’t only a matter of genetics. It was shaped by his upbringing, education, and his own natural curiosity and talent.

Still, Dennis’s praise made her happy.

Not wanting to be left out, Ethan piped up, “Hey, what about me?”

Dennis grinned at him. “You too, kid. Both of you are little geniuses.”

With the contract signed, Rebecca’s phone rang. She glanced at the screen, and as she listened to the voice on the other end, her brows drew together, concern clouding her face.

She stood up and turned to Dennis. “Dennis, I need to head back to the Thomson family estate. Take the contract to Mr. Austin for me, would you?”

Dennis could tell it was urgent. He nodded quickly. “Of course.”

Noah and Ethan wanted to go with their mom, but Rebecca instructed Louis to drive them back to Sunset Villa Estates while she took a cab on her own.

Sitting in the car, Noah and Ethan grew restless.

To keep a close watch on his condition, George had already brought in a medical team to the estate.

At first, the old man resisted, insisting he was fine and telling George to send the doctors away. Stubborn and proud as ever, he refused to be surrounded by doctors, convinced it was all an overreaction.

Left with no choice, George fibbed, saying he was the one feeling unwell and needed the doctors around. The excuse was a stretch, but it was enough to get the old man to grudgingly accept the medical team’s presence.

That decision proved invaluable. When the emergency struck, the doctors were ready and responded immediately.

By the time Rebecca arrived, her grandfather had already been stabilized.

Mrs. Thomson was sitting quietly by his bedside, tears streaming down her face. Rebecca offered her a few comforting words, and just then, the old man stirred.

Everyone’s attention snapped to him as he opened his eyes, his voice weak but anxious. “The… the little ones… where are my grandchildren?”
