The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 343

Rebecca hesitated for a moment, then said, “Actually, Samuel doesn’t know I work at Frost Group. My family spoils me quite a bit—they don’t want me working hard or worrying about money. If he saw my boss, it’d be tough to explain.”

“Oh? Why doesn’t Samuel want you to have a job?” Joyce’s curiosity about Rebecca’s family was obvious.

Rebecca explained, “I guess it’s because I’m the youngest at home. He thinks I should just relax and enjoy life, you know, since I’m a girl…”

Rebecca was about to suggest that just the three of them go out together.

Before she could say anything, Joyce paused, then looked straight at Dylan. “How about this, Mr. Austin? Maybe you should sit this one out, just so Samuel doesn’t get the wrong idea.”

Dylan: “…”

Rebecca: “…Wait, what?”

Didn’t Joyce just say she liked having a crowd around?

The room went quiet for a moment, the atmosphere turning awkward.

Right on cue, the door opened and Garcia walked in, putting on a show of professionalism as she carried in three glasses of juice.

She crossed the room. “Ms. Gellar, here’s some juice.”

She set down the other two glasses in front of Dylan and Rebecca. “Here you go, sir…”

As for Rebecca, it was clear she was just an afterthought.

Joyce took a sip, immediately puckering at the tartness. “Mr. Austin, your secretary really doesn’t know how to read the room. The meeting’s been over for ages and she’s only just now bringing us something to drink—I was dying of thirst!”

Garcia apologized at once. “Sorry, Ms. Gellar. I didn’t want to interrupt your meeting, so I waited till you were done.”

Other people might’ve bought that, but Rebecca could tell Garcia was just waiting for Dylan to come in before making her entrance.

Chapter 343 2

Since Joyce had already met them, Rebecca didn’t see the need to hide anything.

Chapter 343 3

Rebecca asked, “Why do you have so many snacks in your car?”

Joyce raised an eyebrow and grinned. “What can I say? I love snacks, so I always keep a stash in the car.”

Rebecca just laughed and gathered up the kids, heading off to BILI Cafe with Joyce.

BILI Cafe was elegantly decorated, the atmosphere upscale and inviting.

A waiter led them to their reserved table, and their evening began.
