The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 331

But Dylan just stared at her, unblinking—his eyes clouded, as if he were lost somewhere in the haze of five years ago.

That night, the woman was in this same position, straddling him, and it was then that he’d suffered the greatest humiliation of his life.

Back then, his legs were paralyzed. He’d been helpless when a woman barged into his room, took advantage of him at his weakest, and forced herself onto him...

The memory made Dylan grit his teeth in fury. He grabbed Rebecca’s shoulder, his fingers digging so hard it felt like he might crush her.

Pain shot through Rebecca’s shoulder. Meeting Dylan’s furious glare, her eyes widened in utter confusion.

“Dylan, I haven’t done anything to you! Why are you looking at me like you want to kill me? Let go—let go of me, right now!”

Her voice rose in panic, not understanding why Dylan was suddenly lashing out. Did he really think she was God’s gift, that every man wanted her or something?

But Dylan seemed completely out of his mind, oblivious to her protests.

His gaze was fixed on her, cold and murderous—if looks could kill, Rebecca would have been torn to pieces by now.

“Dylan, what’s wrong with you? Let go of me—please!”

Barely had the words left her mouth when Dylan suddenly demanded, “Who are you?”

The question caught Rebecca off guard. Had he somehow recognized her as the wife he’d exiled from his life all those years ago?

A flicker of guilt flashed across her face. “Mr. Austin, I’m your secretary, Raina. What’s going on? Did you drink too much tonight—are you confused?”

Dylan didn’t reply. He just stared at her, as if searching her face for some hidden clue.

Rebecca squirmed under his scrutiny, trying desperately to break free, but his grip was iron-tight—she couldn’t budge an inch.

“If you weren’t drunk, I’d make you pay for this,” she muttered, but seeing him knocked out cold, she figured they were even.

With considerable effort, she helped Dylan out of his dirty clothes, covered him with the blanket, and made sure he was breathing steadily. Only then did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Just as she was about to leave, Dylan’s phone suddenly started ringing.

The sharp ringtone cut through the quiet room. Rebecca glanced at the screen—it was an unfamiliar number, no name attached.

She didn’t answer. It wasn’t her place.

The phone rang a few times, then stopped, and Rebecca, relieved, turned to leave.

But then, it started ringing again.
