The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 304

Garcia spoke up. "This is all just a misunderstanding. Maybe Raina accidentally packed my things into her bag by mistake, but there was absolutely no theft. We're all colleagues here; we should get along. Besides, I've already found my wallet, so let's just drop it."

Director Porter gaped at Garcia’s shameless declaration, thinking, Is that supposed to be an apology? Sounds more like she’s dodging responsibility.

Yet the rest of the office seemed to applaud her words.

Colleagues broke into claps and murmurs of approval. "Garcia, you’re so generous. If I were you, I’d have called the police and let them deal with the thief."

"Garcia, are you being threatened? If you are, just blink and we’ll know."

Others whispered among themselves.

"Raina must’ve threatened Garcia behind the scenes, telling her not to press charges."

"Exactly. And with Mr. Russell backing Raina, I bet he pressured Garcia too."

"Poor Garcia…"

Garcia, seeing everyone’s reaction, felt a wave of satisfaction. She bit her lip and said, "Raina, I know I was wrong. Will you forgive me?"

To everyone’s surprise, Rebecca suddenly stood up. "I don’t accept your apology."

A stunned silence fell over the room, all eyes turning to Rebecca in disbelief.

From their perspective, Garcia had already apologized; Rebecca ought to accept it.

Meanwhile, in the executive office, Dylan watched the live video feed from Director Porter, his brows furrowing.

He hadn’t expected Garcia to pull a stunt like this. She’d promised him yesterday she’d apologize to Raina, and now she was turning everything upside down.

His expression darkened, his dislike for Garcia growing by the second.

He was about to instruct Director Porter to send Garcia to his office when his phone suddenly rang.

Dylan answered, and Mrs. Austin’s voice came through, sharper than usual.

“Dylan, that’s enough,” she said, her tone full of reproach.
