Hearing those words, Crystal’s anger subsided a little.
She knew the Gellar family was hosting this charity gala. In a setting like this, she couldn’t afford to embarrass them.
Besides, having a backup dress to change into was certainly better than walking around in this one, now stained.
“For the Gellar family’s sake, I’ll let this go,” Crystal said coldly. “Take me there.”
The attendant, visibly relieved, gestured politely. “Right this way, ma’am.”
Crystal followed her upstairs, but her mood was still in shambles.
Tonight had been a disaster from the start—she’d been snubbed at every turn, and now her dress was ruined by a careless server.
She silently vowed that once she changed, she would pull herself together and keep searching for an opportunity.
The attendant led Crystal to a door, knocked softly, and announced, “Ms. Gellar, a guest’s dress was stained. I’ve brought her to change.”
A gentle voice replied from inside, “Come in.”
The attendant opened the door and let Crystal step in first.
Crystal entered and saw Joyce sitting elegantly on the sofa.
With her refined grace and effortless beauty, Joyce seemed every bit the quintessential society queen.
“Ms. Thomson, I’m terribly sorry for all the trouble,” Joyce said with a warm smile.
Crystal was taken aback. She hadn’t expected the Gellar family’s heiress to be so cordial.
She quickly replied, “It’s quite all right, thank you, Ms. Gellar.”
Joyce gestured toward a nearby walk-in closet, where several rows of exquisite evening gowns hung. “Feel free to pick whichever you like.”
Noah nodded with satisfaction. “You can go now. Wait in the car.”
The bodyguard bowed again. “Yes, young master. If you need anything, just call.”
With that, he melted back into the crowd, disappearing from sight.
Just then, Aiden’s eyes lit up as he spotted a familiar figure. “Noah, Evan, I think I see Mom!”
Evan perked up, craning his neck and scanning the room. “Mom? Where?”
Aiden pointed toward the main entrance. “Over there, look.”
Noah and Evan followed his finger—and sure enough, there was Rebecca.
Standing right beside her was a tall, handsome man—their father, Dylan.
