Meanwhile, the four little rascals had gathered in their room for another top-secret meeting.
Thanks to the bug they’d planted, Noah already knew that Emily had been discharged from the hospital.
“Looks like we pulled it off. She saw the knife and immediately assumed it was that wicked aunt of hers, so now she’s spooked,” Noah analyzed calmly.
Ethan tossed his head with pride. “My plan actually worked! All we have to do now is drive a wedge between those two troublemakers. That way, they won’t be able to gang up on Mom.”
Aiden nodded eagerly. “Yeah, we can’t let anyone bully Mom.”
But Evan was still worried. “What if they find out what we did?”
Ethan snorted. “Those two airheads? No way. They’ll never figure it out.”
Noah was more cautious. “Let’s not get careless. Just in case, we need to find a way to get the bug and the knife back.”
Ethan frowned, a crease forming between his brows. “But how are we supposed to do that?”
Noah thought for a moment. “Simple. We just wait for the right moment when she’s not paying attention and grab them. Leave the cleanup to me. But we can’t waste any time—we need to act quickly.”
Aiden agreed, “Right. If that wicked aunt catches on, it’ll be too late.”
From then on, Noah kept a close eye on Crystal and Emily, tracking their every move.
Finally, their chance arrived.
Crystal had just launched her new business venture. Hoping to make connections, she jumped at the opportunity to attend a charity gala.
This event was, without a doubt, the perfect stage.
Here, she could mingle with the city’s wealthiest women, build valuable relationships, and smooth the path for her startup. More than anything, Crystal saw this as her ticket into the upper crust of society.
Noah just smiled slyly, as if everything was already under control. “Getting in won’t be a problem. I’ve got invitations.”
He pulled out a fat stack of envelopes from behind his back.
Ethan snatched one up, eyes wide. “Noah, how did you get all these invitations?”
Noah’s tone was relaxed, almost smug. “I knew Crystal would go to this charity gala, so I got ready in advance. I asked the bodyguard to look into the event organizers, found a few loopholes, and managed to snag these invitations.”
Aiden listened with fascination, unable to hide his admiration. “Noah, you’re amazing! I can’t believe you got so many!”
Evan looked at Noah with the same awestruck expression.
Noah just gave a calm, knowing smile, as if everything had unfolded exactly as he’d planned.
