The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 197

Inside the office, Dylan’s face darkened the instant he heard Raina speak to him in that tone.

His grip tightened around his phone, anger flickering in his eyes.

“This woman… How dare she talk to me like that?”

But he forced himself to calm down. Thinking it over, he realized maybe he’d been too harsh just now.

He knew exactly what kind of person Fitch was—relentless, never backing down until he got what he wanted.

Raina was just a junior staff member; there was no way she could fend off Fitch’s aggressive pursuit on her own.

Clearly, this was something he’d have to deal with personally.

Dylan understood that if he didn’t handle this well, it would not only disrupt the company’s work environment, but also deepen the rift between him and Fitch.

He made up his mind to talk to Fitch directly.

Dylan called him, cutting right to the chase: “Fitch, we need to talk about you chasing after Raina.”

It was as if Fitch had already guessed what Dylan was about to say. “Dylan, I’m serious about her. Don’t try to get in my way.”

Dylan’s tone grew stern. “Fitch, your behavior has crossed the line into harassment. It’s causing problems for Raina and for the company. Because of you, nobody can focus on their work. Enough is enough.”

But Fitch, half-drunk and sounding careless, just laughed. “I’m going after what makes me happy. What’s wrong with that?”

Dylan frowned. “The way you’re doing it is wrong. You’re only making her more uncomfortable. She’s already told you she isn’t interested.”

But instead of an explosive confession, all they heard was Dylan’s voice, steadier than ever:

“I’ve told you, I’m married. I have no intention of cheating—physically or emotionally.”

Fitch let out a disappointed sigh, still trying to provoke him. “But you don’t even like your wife. Ms. Thomson’s a total bore, isn’t she? Why bother? Every successful man has a few beautiful women on the side.”

Dylan’s face grew even grimmer. He raised his voice. “Fitch, I’m not like you.”

There was a brief pause on the other end. Then Fitch said, “Fine, have it your way. But I’m not giving up on Raina. If you don’t want me causing trouble at the office, I’ll just wait for her outside instead.”

With that, Fitch hung up.
