The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 154

Mrs. Austin frowned. “Who even knows where she popped up from—what a jinx!”

Meanwhile, Rebecca was out for a stroll in the park with her four little ones. The park was lively, with people in the square dancing to upbeat music.

The kids stopped, wide-eyed with excitement as they watched the group dance.

Ethan turned to Rebecca. “Mom, why don’t you join them? If you started dancing, you’d be the prettiest lady here for sure.”

Rebecca laughed, tapping Ethan on the nose. “You little rascal, always teasing me! But no way am I joining a dance group.”

Ethan didn’t miss a beat. “If Mom won’t dance, then we’ll do it!”

Before Rebecca could react, Ethan grabbed Aiden and Evan, and the three of them darted straight into the crowd of dancers.

Their moves were anything but graceful—awkward and a little clumsy—but the earnestness and innocence in their faces made them absolutely irresistible.

Noah, always the responsible one, shook his head with a sigh and turned to Rebecca. “Mom, I’ll go keep an eye on them.”

She ruffled his hair. “Go ahead.”

The kids leaped and twirled among the adults, drawing delighted laughter from the older folks nearby.

An older woman chuckled. “These kids are just adorable!”

A gentleman nodded, grin wide. “Watching them, I feel ten years younger myself.”

Just then, Rebecca’s phone rang. It was Isabella. She stepped aside to answer.

“Rebecca, how was work today?” Isabella’s warm voice came through.

“Oh, not bad. How about you?” Rebecca replied.

Evan was the first to spring into action, hurrying over to the man dancing nearby. He tugged on the gentleman’s jacket, making him pause mid-step, looking down in surprise.

Evan craned his neck, his voice sweet and earnest. “Excuse me, sir, can I ask you something?”

The man knelt down, grinning. “Well, hello there! What’s up, little man?”

Evan’s face turned serious. “Would you like me to introduce you to a lovely lady?”

The man blinked in surprise, then burst out laughing. “Oh, you’re a funny one! I’ve been single so long, no one wants to bother with an old guy like me. Honestly, I gave up on finding a partner ages ago.”

Evan shook his head, determined. “I’m serious, sir! She’s beautiful and very, very rich. You’ll love her, I promise.”

The man chuckled, clearly charmed but a little flustered. He stood up, looking at Evan. “Now, now, you can’t just joke about things like that. If you say you’ll introduce me, you have to keep your word!”

Evan patted his chest with pride. “Don’t worry, sir. I promise—I’d never lie to you.”
