The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 139

Just as Rebecca was about to leave, Director Porter called out to her. “Raina, remember—Mr. Frost only eats BiteLite breakfast rolls, and it has to be the beef ones. He doesn’t like anything with veggies.”

Rebecca couldn’t help but feel a bit bemused. Why did the Frost Group’s CEO have the same breakfast habits as her own little nephews—obsessed with BiteLite’s beef rolls and refusing to touch anything green? What a strange coincidence.

She didn’t dwell on it, though, and just replied, “Alright, I’ll go get them now.”

Rebecca turned to head out for breakfast duty.

Off to the side, Linda was grinning from ear to ear, as if she’d just won the lottery with this assignment.

As Rebecca left, she overheard Linda bragging to the others, “I’ll be seeing the boss in person soon! Maybe I’ll even make a good impression!”

Rebecca just shook her head and walked faster, eager to get out of the office.

When she arrived at BiteLite, there was already a line stretching out the door.

She sighed, resigned, and dutifully queued up at the end.

By the time it was finally her turn, the owner looked at her apologetically. “Sorry, miss, we’re all out of beef rolls. Only veggie left.”

Rebecca’s heart sank. The CEO wouldn’t touch veggie rolls—what was she supposed to do now?

And Porter had specifically said breakfast had to be from BiteLite.

Standing there, frowning, Rebecca hesitated in indecision.

With a sigh, Rebecca turned and headed back to her own desk.

Meanwhile, Linda all but floated down the hallway, visions of impressing the CEO dancing in her head as she sashayed into Dylan’s office, a bright, expectant smile on her face.

“Mr. Frost, here’s your breakfast,” Linda purred, trying to make her voice sound as sweet as possible.

Dylan was absorbed in his paperwork, barely glancing up. “Just leave it,” he said coolly.

Even his voice was magnetic, Linda thought with a swoon. She placed the breakfast gently on his desk, heart fluttering.

She should have left then, but instead she stood frozen in place, eyes fixed on Dylan’s strikingly handsome face, unable—or unwilling—to tear herself away.
