The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 122

Aiden nodded emphatically. “Matthew, you’re incredible! We all believe in you!”

Evan scooted closer, tugging at Noah’s sleeve. “Go, Matthew! You can do it!”

Noah just flashed a mysterious grin before settling into a nearby chair. He opened up his laptop, his small fingers flying over the keyboard with impressive speed.

It didn’t take long before Noah snapped his laptop shut with a flourish, his face lit up with confidence. “All done!”

Ethan, hearing this, immediately patted his rumbling stomach. “Let’s head down for breakfast. I’m starving.”

Aiden nodded eagerly, chiming in, “Yeah, let’s not keep Mom waiting.”

With that, the kids bounced their way to the dining table, acting as if nothing had happened. They took their seats obediently. “Mom, we’re here!”

Rebecca, seeing her children gather, brought over a steaming plate piled high with hearty breakfast rolls. The kids could hardly wait—they each grabbed a roll and took a big bite, their faces quickly smeared with savory juices. Between mouthfuls, they managed to mumble, “Mom, this is delicious! Love you!”

Rebecca couldn’t help but laugh at their adorable antics. In that moment, warmth and happiness filled every corner of the house.

Meanwhile, in the Austin Group’s CEO office, Dennis set a bag of fresh breakfast on the desk with extra care. “Sir, you’ve worked all night. Please, have something to eat—these are from BiteLite, the new bakery in town.”

Dylan glanced at the breakfast and nodded. “Alright, just leave it. I’ll eat in a minute.” The fatigue on his face was unmistakable, but his eyes still burned with determination.

Dennis smiled. “Of course, sir. I’ll step out now. Just call me if you need anything.” With that, he quietly slipped out, closing the door behind him.

After a sleepless night, Dylan had finally reclaimed the project that was rightfully his. He leaned back in his chair, a satisfied smirk tugging at his lips. Inwardly, he thought, Samuel, you’re way out of your league if you think you can take me on.

Dylan stood up, bracing himself against the desk, his brow furrowed in concern. “Anything else? Any other issues?”

Dennis swallowed. “Yes, sir. The partner you secured last night—he just called. He’s backing out of the deal, no matter what we say. The project’s dead.”

“And?” Dylan’s voice was icy. “Spit it all out.”

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Dennis continued, “A few pending contracts—they’ve all been intercepted by other companies. Initial estimates put our losses in the billions.”

His voice grew smaller and smaller, panic creeping in.

Dylan slammed his fist on the table. “What the hell is going on? How did everything fall apart all at once?”
