The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 121

When Dylan arrived at the office, he headed straight for his private room. Dennis was already there, waiting for him, a thick stack of documents laid out neatly on Dylan’s desk.

Dylan’s expression was grave as he questioned Dennis, “Are you certain Samuel was behind both incidents?”

Dennis frowned, replying, “Absolutely certain. Mr. Thomson was just trying to get even for what happened to his four nephews.”

Dylan’s face remained cold, a chill flickering in his gaze. His voice dropped to a low rumble, “Understood. He took a swing at one of our people—fine, we’ll let that slide. But there’s no way we’re giving him the project.”

Dennis nodded. “Alright.” He hesitated for a moment before asking, “And tonight…?”

“Overtime,” Dylan answered without missing a beat.

Dennis’s shoulders slumped.

He’d expected as much. With a resigned sigh, Dennis turned and trudged back to his own desk to get to work.

Early the next morning, Rebecca left her best friend Isabella Cooper’s house and returned to Sunset Villa Estates.

She slipped quietly into the bedroom. The four little ones were still curled up in bed, sleeping sweetly. The sight of their peaceful faces made her heart melt on the spot.

Softly, she whispered, “Sweethearts, Mommy’s home.”

As if they’d all sensed her presence, the children’s eyes flew open, and in a flash, they tumbled into her arms, giggling.

Rebecca hugged all four tightly. “Did you miss Mommy?”

“We did! We missed you so much!” they chimed in unison, their voices brimming with longing and affection.

Gently nuzzling their cheeks, Rebecca shook the paper bag in her hand with a smile. “Mommy brought you your favorite BiteLite sausage rolls! Get up and get washed, and you can have a delicious breakfast.”

Noah frowned, thinking hard, then answered slowly, “Because Dylan figured out Uncle Samuel was behind what happened yesterday.”

Ethan stomped his foot in frustration. “Uncle Samuel really should’ve been more careful. Can’t believe he got caught.”

Aiden frowned, puzzled. “So our dad is getting back at Uncle Samuel again?”

Evan’s cheeks flushed with indignation, his tiny fists clenched. “He can’t just bully Uncle Samuel! Even if he is our dad!”

Seeing his brothers worked up, Noah felt a surge of responsibility. He took a deep breath, squared his little shoulders, and said resolutely, “Leave this to me. I’ll handle it.”

Ethan looked at Noah, worried. “Are you sure you can do it?”

Noah flashed a confident grin. “Don’t worry. I’ve got this. If I could help Uncle Samuel win that project once, I can do it again. Just watch—I’ll make sure Dylan doesn’t get away with it twice.”
