Quinn POV

"Quinn, you can't leave! The rouges they-"

"I will do what I want when I want. You expect my help after you tried to kill my mate? You're lucky to be standing here."

Terrance swallowed hard and rubbed the back of his neck.

It is mean of me to leave his pack like that, but then again I am mean.

He didn't know she was mate, yeah but even after I told him he was still willing to beat her to death.

I had come to a decision I wouldn't put my hands on him.

I'd let the rougues deal with him for me.

"Quinn what about the payment. You can't just-"

I held up my hand and shot him a glare.

"Your money has not touched my hand or any of my pack members so your statement is irrelevant."

Terrance looked pissed off. His eyes turned dark and his hands were shaking but he simply turned away and entered his pack house.

That was fun...

I helped Nikolai load the bags in the cars, ignoring the look my sister was giving me.

"We can't leave them like this Quinny."

I sighed and turned to face her.

"I'm not helping this damned pack anymore."

"Why?"

I love my sister, I really do. But it's taking my all not to ask her if she's stupid right now.

My mate was about to be killed in front of her, I saved Rayne in front of her and she stills asks me why?

"He was going to kill my mate Rosie. I'm not helping after that."

"I know that but-"

"No buts about it. You would do the same thing in my place. Don't act like you'd do any different."

Rose nodded with her eyes facing down and then walked off to Nikolai's car.

I'll just talk to her later.

Rayne's scent hit me as I noticed her standing on the pack house porch.

She had tears in her eyes as well as tear stains on her shirt.

"What's the matter?" I asked as I walked up to her.

"I'm not leaving."

I rolled my eyes.

"Well you don't have a choice. You are part of my pack now so come on, get in the car and stop the water works."

"Quinn, please. I made a promise to my-"

"Promises are meant to be broken Rayne. Get your ass in the car, we're leaving."

She jumped on me, wrapping her arms around her neck and crying into my shoulder.

Shock took over me.

Do I hug her back or just sit her and let her do what she wants?

Slowly I brought my arms around her and encased her into my embrace.

I sat down fully on the floor and brought her into my lap, running my fingers through her hair.

After a few moments, she calmed down a little, but was still clinging onto me like her life depended on it.

Honestly, I didn't mind. I...kinda liked it.

Being close to her and having her in my arms.

It felt nice.

"Its my parents." She mumbled, startling me for a second.

"What?"

"My parents used to be Alpha and Luna of this pack....."

My eyes widened in shock.

Her parents were Alpha and Luna?

That means she should be Alpha now.

I nodded to her, to let her know I was listening as she continued to tell me her story.
