My Big Bad Alpha novel Chapter 13

Quinn's POV

I spit out blood of yet another rogue to die by my hands.

Their tactics were obviously well planned out since the battle has been going on for what feels like hours.

Now and again, I kept my eye on Rose and my men, in case they needed any assistance, but for the life of me I couldn't find Rayne anywhere between the multiple fighting wolves. I kept reassuring myself she was fine, if she was hurt I would feel it. With that thought now implanted in my mind, I fought on.

A small grey wolf charged towards me and I charged towards him right back. I tackled him head on, causing him to fall back onto his back but he got up quickly, shaking his head repeatedly in an attempt to get himself back in the game.

I couldn't waste time on one simple wolf. Using my Alpha speed, I again charged towards him before he could even see me coming and slashed his throat with my claws, leaving him now lifeless on the crimson red grass.

A brief moment of guilt came across me. He was obviously a young wolf, probably with a family here fighting today, but I have to protect my pack, no matter who loses their life.

In my sights, I had another rogue who was creeping up on my Beta, who was fighting off another wolf.

I ran towards them using my Alpha speed to help me reach there faster.

But suddenly a crippling pain shot through my back, making me trip over my own paws and crash to the ground.

"Quinn!" Rose's voice yelled through out link as I struggled to catch my breath. The sudden shock made me shift back human immediately. I was..confused. I've never had a force shift before.

"Where is Rayne?!" I asked, standing up while Oliver came running towards me with pants in his wolf mouth. I put them on and fell to my knees again as the pain shot through me once again.

I sniffed the air, trying to pick up her scent but with so much blood around, it was damn hard.

"Quinn..." Rayne's weak voice called out to me via our link and panic shot through me.

"Rayne! Where are you?"

"Woods.. Come quick.." She muttered before our link went dead and I sweated before taking off towards the woods.

I picked up her scent near the depths of the forest.

How in the hell did she get right here?
