~One Year Later
Rayne's POV
I crossed my legs impatiently as I sat outside of my favorite café waiting for Quinn to grace me with his presence.
"Luna." A small group of little girls said to me with a bow of respect as they passed by, bowing to me in respect.
I waved to them with a big grin then resumed to my waiting game and sipping my mango-guava smoothie.
"Rose, do you know where Quinn is?" I linked to her through our link and a few short moments later, she answered.
"I don't know. He isn't at the pack house, I know that for sure. He left a while ago after checking on Elliott and me."
Rose had her and Nikolai's first child a few months ago. Believe it or not, she went into labor during a rogue attack and Nikolai had to deliver the baby himself with the help of Dr.Keller through mind link since everyone was out fighting, including Quinn and myself.
Rose told me the poor guy fainted on her about twice until he finally manned up and she gave birth to the cutest pup I've ever seen.
They decided to name him Elliott, after Nikolai's grandfather and for his middle name, Liam , a name Rose randomly fell in love with.
"Oh alright. Give El a kiss for me." I said shortly.
"I will." She replied and then I closed off our link.
In case you're wondering, no Quinn and I don't have any children yet. We are taking our relationship slowly and I have no problem with that. He's still somewhat messed up by the shit his mom did to him and I understand that. Years soon years of that bullshit is bound to mess anyone up for life, but slowly he opened up to me and came out of his shell.
If Quinn doesn't get here in 1 minute so help me God I'll-
"Hey baby." His smooth velvet like voice said and I shivered slightly as he placed a kiss on his mark on my neck.
That's right. We completed the mating process and he also marked me.
"About time Quinn. You had me waiting here for like an hour." I said with a scowl on my face and he took a seat in front of me and kissed my hand.
"I'm sorry. Alpha business I had to attend too baby." He said in an apologetic tone and I nodded. There was no point in making fuss, he was a busy man. Especially since he merged two packs together, double the work. I'm shocked at how he handles it all so well and makes it to bed at night.
"It's okay. I'm glad you could make it." I said with a smile and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"I wouldn't miss it. You know I hate letting you down." Quinn added with a slight frown and I held back the urge to roll my eyes.
"Quinn, you can't promise me everything is going to work out on time or even happen. Sometimes, a little disappointment is good to keep you in check with reality and I'm okay with that."
In return he rolled his eyes at me and a waiter came to our table just in time, gave us our menus and quickly left. A few months ago, when Quinn and I had first mated he had made an order that all male wolves mated or not were to stay away from m. Besides Nikolai of course, Quinn trusted him with his life. Quinn had that little order up for a while until about two months ago when he finally let it down, but most of the guys were already so used to staying away from me they never stay around me long when I'm out and about, especially if Quinn is with me.
"What are you eating?" He asked and I smirked at him.
"You later." I said through our private mind link.
Quinn lowly chuckled and resumed looking at his menu, deciding what to order.
