~Third Person POV
Quinn, Rose and Nikolai sat in Rayne's hospital room patiently waiting for her to wake up.
Nikolai had been sitting in a chair with a frightened Rose in his arms for over an hour now.
The fight had died down and the rogues fled after the death of their Alpha.
Eli was now dead, and if it wasn't for Rayne, Quinn probably would have given up the pack. He had made a mental note to praise her for that, but at the moment, all he wanted was to see her open her beautiful brown eyes.
The pack doctor had managed to dispose of all silver and wolfsbane in Rayne's system, now it was up to her wolf to heal her body from the damages the unwanted substances had caused.
Quinn had never been so....scared before in his life. The only life he ever feaed for most of his life was his little sister's and now here we was, sitting in a hospital room fearing for the life of his mate more than anything.
He was in deep thought. Thinking about how he treated Rayne since the first time they found each other, have he pushed her away and made her feel like nothing.
Quinn vowed to himself to never let her feel like that again. A mate is a precious thing, a gift from the Goddess to every wolf on the planet and he took his for granted.
Even though, they had spoken about where their relationship was and what they were, he realized he had never said sorry to her.
Quinn silently prayed that she would be okay so she could know how sorry he was.
___
Rayne's POV
I struggled to open my eyes for what seemed like an eternity.
"Come on....come on.." I mumbled to myself and pushed my eyes open.
Squinting, I looked around the room to see Quinn sitting beside my bed with his head in his arms, and Nikolai sitting across the room on another chair with Rose sleeping in his arms.
They must be mates.
I flexed my arms and fingers. They felt stiff but I was okay overall, besides the bandage wrapping around my thigh but I can live with that.
I gently laid my fingers on Quinn's hand and his head shot up. He looked like he had aged another 5 years. His hair was disheveled and out of place, his eyes had bags around them like he hasn't slept for days.
Was he like this because of me?
"Rayne.." He breathed out in a whisper and I smiled at him.
