~Third Person PoV
Quinn had mind linked to his fighters, as well as the ones who were now part of his pack to prepare for a fight.
The incoming rogues were taking their sweet time in approaching and from their size, he knew these rogues mean business.
Quinn ordered the women and children to take shelter in the pack house, as well as Rayne but she was being defiant.
"Go into the pack house and stay there." He said using his Alpha on her, but that can't affect her now because she is now his equal, his Luna.
"No. I am staying and I am fighting. I won't hide behind-HEY HEY WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING! QUINN PUT ME DOWN!!" Rayne began to say, but was cut off mid sentence as Quinn picked her up and threw her over his shoulder.
"This is for your own good Rayne."
Rayne's POV
"Put me down Quinn!" I screamed in his ear as he carried me up to my room. Pack members were watching and some obviously wanted to laugh but I glared at them and they turned away.
Quinn kicked open my bedroom door and threw me on the bed.
"You will not leave this room, do you understand?"
I scowled. "You can't make me do anything. I'm your Luna now, which makes me your equal. I want to fight."
"NO! YOU WILL NOT STEP FOOT OUT THERE!" He roared as his eyes turned black.
"I don't give a fuck what you say Quinn. You can't stop me from fighting. I didn't train myself for nothing. Let. Me. Fight." I stood up and took my stand in front of him as he glared down at me with black eyes.
His mouth opened to speak but then suddenly my window broke as something shot right through it, straight into my room.
Both Quinn and I looked around to see what it was, until my eyes landed on a small grey cone shaped item near my bed.
"Quinn..." I tugged on his arm and pointed towards the floor, directly at the item.
Then I realized what it was.
"Get down!" Quinn yelled as he grabbed me by my waist and brought me down to the floor in the hallway, shielding me with his own body as a loud boom sound came from the inside of my room.
A grenade.
