A Divorce He Regrets (Raina and Alexander) novel Chapter 357

“If I don’t stop now,” he murmured, thumb brushing my jaw, “I’m going to lose control.”

“Then stop,” I whispered, even though every part of me screamed to tell him not to.

He smiled, wicked and soft all at once, then he stepped back. “I’ll text you.”

And just like that, he left me standing in the driveway with my lips still tingling.

Snapping out of it, I walked back inside and the air was heavy with disapproval. Okay, time to deal with them.

“Who the fuck was that?” My uncle demanded, still holding the gun like he hadn’t finished deciding whether to use it or not. “And why does he look like someone I hate? He looks so familiar.”

“He’s some prick who’s obsessed with Ava,” Liam muttered darkly, his arms now crossed. Shit, I hope he doesn’t tell dad.

“Really?” My uncle’s eyes locked on me. “Be careful, okay? Because boys like that burn everything they touch.”

My aunt choked in with a worried frown. “Your uncle’s right. Don’t let him near you again, sweetheart.”

I mumbled something like an agreement, but my heart was still racing too fast to think straight.

We all went to bed but I couldn’t stop thinking about meeting with Kye the next day. Can tomorrow come any faster?

When morning came, the first thing we did was to go visit my father in the hospital.

He looked better… the color was back in his face and his smile was a little less forced, but he was still too weak to leave the bed. And mom flat out refused to let him get discharged.

“For once, listen to your wife,” she snapped out of frustration when he tried to argue.

After some more back and forth, he sighed and finally agreed to stay.

By the time I got to school, I had already unblocked Kye. I didn’t tell myself why, but I knew.

When my eyes landed on him as I walked down the hallway, he smiled at me and I blushed like an idiot. He didn’t come to me… he didn’t need to anyways.

My phone vibrated and I pulled it out to see a message from him. ‘Good morning, beautiful.’

He’s so cute. I bit my lip to hide my smile before texting back. ‘Morning.’

‘Have a lovely day today,’ he texted back.

He grinned. “Challenge accepted.”

Chapter 357 3

When night fell over us, he drove me home and the car idled in the driveway, headlights glowing against the empty road.

“One more thing,” he whispered as he turned to face me. “Can you tutor me?”

I raised a brow. “Is that why you want me to be your girlfriend?”

“No,” he quickly replied. “I’m just… looking for an excuse to spend more time with you.”

Oh wow, I could get used to this. I smirked. “Fine, but if you try anything—“

“I’ll be on my best behavior,” he promised, though the mischievous glint in his eyes said otherwise. Of course.

“Good,” I uttered even though I didn’t trust his words. “Our first season is tomorrow.”

As I stepped out of the car, his voice followed me, low and filled with certainty. “I’m not giving up on you, Ava.”
