Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 902

Charlene shook her head with a light laugh. "I wouldn't go that far. He probably just doesn't want to mix business with pleasure."

His attitude during the negotiations had been flawless.

He seemed like someone who knew exactly how to set boundaries. The subtle, perfectly calibrated distance he maintained was his polite way of saying he had no interest in being friends.

Since they didn't have any past history, Stewart couldn't care less about his reasons. He shrugged indifferently. "Whatever. As long as it doesn't mess with our deal, I don't care."

Charlene completely agreed.

Exhausted from the long day, Stewart stretched his arms as they stepped into the elevator. Then, as if suddenly remembering something, he leaned closer to ask, "So, the verdict for that Hawkins and Axiom Flux lawsuit is out. Is Thorne back yet?"

Charlene shook her head. "I heard he wasn't back a couple of days ago. As of right now, no clue."

"The Hawkins family has to be scrambling to appeal by now, right? He's not coming back to clean up their mess?"

"I have no idea."

Stewart knew full well she wouldn't have the inside scoop on that drama.

He was just being nosy.

She truly didn't care how Thorne planned to bail out the Hawkins family, but...

She checked the date on her phone.

It had been several days since the one-month deadline she had given him for their divorce, yet it was absolute radio silence on his end.

After a moment's thought, she sent him a quick text: *The one-month deadline has passed.*

She didn't get a reply until noon the next day. *Sorry, I've been swamped. It's going to be a few more days before I fly back.*

Charlene stared at the screen, her grip tightening on the phone. She didn't bother typing a response.
