Thorns Grow After Betrayal (Celeste and Chester) novel Chapter 354

Joanna pushed the door open and walked in quickly.

Sanderson's face darkened. "Who let you in?"

"Sanderson, what are you yelling for?" Dahlia pushed Sanderson back. "Joanna, come here. Talk to me."

Chester's sudden awakening had left Dahlia both shocked and overjoyed.

Seven years ago was indeed the time when her son treasured this damn girl the most.

If she was willing to cooperate with Chester's treatment, his condition would surely improve much faster.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fordhams, the doctor said that having familiar people around Chester can help stimulate his memory, but with Celly's current attitude, that's absolutely impossible."

"That little witch, she has the nerve to refuse!" Dahlia couldn't help but mutter curses.

Inwardly, she was also doubtful.

The old Celestine would have come to take care of Chester without a second thought.

But now, Chester had been in a coma for so long, and she had only visited him once.

She wouldn't even give her father-in-law Sanderson any face! Now that Chester was awake, she would surely be even less willing to get involved.

Joanna said softly, "Mrs. Fordhams, please don't be angry. I'm willing to take Celly's place and stay by his side, but I must do so in the capacity of his wife."

"Joanna, don't push your luck."

Sanderson, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke.

"Mr. Fordhams, I know your concerns, but you've misunderstood me. Even though I love Chester very much, I would not take advantage of this situation," Joanna said with a crestfallen expression.

Sanderson's gaze was complicated. "Continue."

Joanna nodded. "Chester is a very intelligent person. If we tell him it's seven years later, he will surely wonder why we aren't married and might even dig until he finds Celly. That could cause him a second trauma."

She had a point.

But Sanderson knew her true intentions lay elsewhere.

He glanced at the doctor. "What is your recommendation?"

The doctor adjusted his glasses and said impartially, "If the patient suffers another severe neurological shock, he will either fully recover all his memories or fall into a permanent coma. With conservative therapy, I recommend avoiding any major shocks while he is trying to recover his memory."
