“Don’t panic. What exactly happened?”
Celestine took her arm, and Flossie’s eyes grew even redder.
Although Flossie was usually carefree and often asked her for help, she had a natural talent for creative work and had never made such a low-level mistake before.
After this month, she was supposed to become a full-time employee.
Lately, she had been exceptionally careful and diligent. She, who had always been against working overtime, had become proactive and willing to take on any task without complaint.
“They said there was a problem with the project proposal you gave yesterday. But I checked it so many times before submitting it, and they double-checked it too. The client still found the error. I don’t know what happened,” Flossie said, completely dejected.
It was like a chef preparing a perfect dish, but the customer was allergic to onions. The apprentices failed to catch it, and the dish with onions was served, enraging the customer.
The restaurant wouldn't fire the head chef, but it was common to fire an apprentice as a scapegoat.
Celestine understood what Flossie was trying to say.
“Come on, let’s go back to the office and see.”
She took Flossie with her.
As soon as they walked in, they saw Yolande slamming files around, looking absolutely furious.
“Well, well, if it isn’t Celly. What brings you in today? I heard you were sick yesterday. You should be resting at home when you’re sick; the project isn’t that urgent. Flossie must have told you, right? That issue with the figures cost the company a direct five million dollar loss.”
Yolande added pointedly, “Celly, don’t take this the wrong way, but you really dragged Flossie down with you this time.”
Her words misled some of the other employees who didn't know the full story.
When Crystal Lennox was around, everyone managed to get along.
