After treating Ivy to lunch, Jeremy drove her back to her rented apartment. They exchanged their goodbyes, and he drove off. Ivy stood on the sidewalk, watching his car disappear down the street. Only when it was completely out of sight did she finally pull her gaze away and head inside her building.

She had barely stepped into her apartment when her phone rang. It was Heather.

"Ivy, have you not delivered the package yet?" Heather asked. She had been worried the food would spoil if Ivy waited much longer.

"I gave it to him today," Ivy replied. "I even had half of the sandwiches Yara made."

"Were they good?" Heather asked with a laugh.

"They were delicious," Ivy said.

"As long as they tasted good," Heather said. "So, did Jeremy just leave right after you gave him the package?" This was what she truly cared about.

"He actually treated me to lunch," Ivy explained. "He had some things to take care of this afternoon, so he left early, but he just dropped me off."

"That is wonderful!" Heather exclaimed. "It means he is not pushing you away. You have no idea how he operates. If he truly dislikes someone, he will not even spare them a single word. Someone tried to set him up recently. I am not sure if you saw the news."

Ivy knew exactly what Heather was talking about, as she had been following the scandal quite closely at the time. "I know about it. But Mr. Milman was clearly set up." She had even looked into Ms. Lowe, the woman involved. Ms. Lowe had previously worked as an assistant for Max. Her competence was undeniable, and she was exceptionally elegant and beautiful.

"Exactly," Heather said. "Jeremy had already warned her to back off, but she insisted on doing things her way."

Ivy did not feel it was her place to comment much on the matter.

When Heather met only silence, she worried Ivy might misunderstand and think Jeremy had a terrible temper. She quickly added, "What I mean is, if Jeremy does not have a good impression of someone right off the bat, he absolutely will not continue interacting with them." She had already asked Ivy if she had met Jeremy before, and realistically, they were still just acquaintances.

Ivy murmured in agreement. "I understand. I am just really happy today."

Hearing the genuine joy in her voice, Heather smiled. "This is a great start. Did he mention his schedule?"
