The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 1214

Even now, he rarely showed any overt affection, yet she had still come running back to him. She had truly fallen completely into his grasp for the rest of her life. Honestly, who else but her could tolerate his stubbornly repressed personality?

Listening to Savannah's words, Darin lowered his eyes, his thoughts unreadable. Watching him, Savannah felt a wave of helplessness. Bringing up the past was pointless; it was always better to look forward.

Just as she was about to change the subject, Darin spoke softly. "I am sorry."

Savannah froze.

Darin looked up, his tone deeply sincere. "For everything in the past. I am truly sorry."

Savannah recovered quickly, flashing a bright smile. "Well, since you are apologizing, I suppose I can reluctantly forgive you."

"What do you want for a gift?" Darin asked.

"What?"

"For New Year's."

Savannah laughed, thinking it over for a moment. "You pick something yourself. As long as it is from you, I will definitely love it."

Darin nodded and took another sip of his lemon water. Under the bright lights of the restaurant, Savannah noticed the tips of his ears had turned bright red. He really was incredibly innocent when it came to romance. Thankfully, he had not changed at all, which meant the man she loved was still exactly who he had always been.

The waiter brought their food. Darin sat across from her, quietly watching her eat. Savannah took one bite of her sausage and immediately scrunched up her face.

"Is it not good?" Darin asked.

"How good can this bland hotel food really be?" Savannah complained.

"Just endure it for tonight. I will take you to a good restaurant tomorrow," Darin promised.

Savannah raised an eyebrow. "Are you not busy tomorrow?"
