"Sorry," Luke said calmly. "I overheard you on the phone with Heather a couple of days ago."

Realization dawned on Ivy. "It is fine. It sounds like you and Heather know each other well."

"We do," Luke confirmed. "We have known each other for years. We are all good friends."

"I see," Ivy murmured.

Willa looked between the two of them. "Who are Heather and Jeremy?"

"Heather is a friend I met through Felicia," Ivy explained patiently. "And Jeremy is her older brother."

Willa narrowed her eyes slightly, observing Ivy with undisguised curiosity. A playful smile spread across her lips. "So, what exactly was this package you were asked to give to her brother?"

Noticing the teasing look in Willa's eyes, Ivy quickly scooped a piece of roast chicken onto Willa's plate. "Stop being so nosy and just eat your food."

Willa giggled. "This is the first time I have ever seen you so nervous."

"Are you asking for trouble?" Ivy shot back with a mock glare.

Willa immediately shoved a spoonful of rice into her mouth, pretending to be utterly focused on her meal.

Over the next two days, Ivy agonized over how to invite Jeremy to dinner without seeming overly eager. A sudden cold front had swept through Boston that morning, giving her the perfect excuse. After much internal debate, she finally sent him a text message. "The temperature dropped significantly today. Please stay warm, Mr. Milman."

The moment the message was delivered, her entire body tensed up. She tossed her phone onto the bed and began getting ready to leave her room. Just as she reached the door, she stopped, turned around, and retrieved her phone from the nightstand, slipping it into her pocket.

She walked into the kitchen to boil some water. As she started chopping vegetables, her phone chimed. She froze mid-slice, took a deep breath, and pulled the device from her pocket. The screen lit up with Jeremy's reply. "Thank you. You too. Stay warm and do not catch a cold."

Ivy stared at the man's words, unable to stop the corners of her lips from turning up into a bright smile. She opened the keyboard to type a response, hesitating once again as she tried to find the perfect phrasing. Finally, she typed, "I will. Are you getting ready to head back to New York?"

Jeremy replied almost instantly. "Yes, I am leaving tomorrow."
