But the moment she stepped out of the car, she saw Rebecca.
Rebecca was wearing a pale blue gown, intricately adorned with shimmering diamonds that perfectly accentuated her graceful figure.
Her hair was styled in a simple bun, yet her innate elegance made her look exceptionally noble and striking.
Her arrival immediately captured the attention of countless men. They stared at her, their eyes filled with admiration and awe, practically drooling.
Katherine’s anger flared instantly. She felt as if Rebecca had stolen all her thunder.
Fuming, she marched over to Rebecca.
Rebecca had come to the conference with Dylan, but he had been called away on urgent business, so she had ended up arriving alone.
Just as she was about to enter, Katherine blocked her path.
“Rebecca, you stop right there!”
Seeing Katherine, Rebecca couldn’t help but frown.
Before she could speak, Katherine began to taunt her. “A poor wretch like you dares to show up here? Do you even know what this place is? The guests here today are all people of status and importance. A country bumpkin born to a gambler like you should just get lost.”
Katherine crossed her arms, her eyes dripping with disdain and contempt.
She assumed Rebecca was also here to hunt for a rich man. Given her current situation, what other options did she have?
She had already managed to ensnare a man like Dylan, which just proved how manipulative she was.

Rebecca smiled. “Then let me tell you, you will never make a comeback. And the Thomson family will certainly never be your new backer.”
Katherine grew angry. “Rebecca, stop trying to jinx us! Who do you think you are? You think you can stop my rise to success just by saying a few words?”

Rebecca crossed her arms, looking down at her. “Katherine, I’ve told you this before. My last name is Thomson, not Zade!”
Katherine laughed. “You, with the last name Thomson? You’re delusional. Did you really think a common pheasant could transform into a phoenix?”
Rebecca arched an eyebrow confidently. “But I was born a phoenix.”
Hearing Rebecca’s words, Katherine howled with laughter, convinced she was completely lost in a daydream.
