Rebecca walked over to the car.
Katherine watched as Rebecca got into a Mercedes-Benz, her eyes wide with disbelief.
How did she get into that car?
Could she really be an heiress?
But she quickly dismissed the thought. If she were really from some prestigious family, why would she be driving a car that costs a few hundred thousand? It should be in the tens of millions at least!
Rebecca must be putting on a show. There was no way she had some wealthy, high-society background.
Even if she did have some money and could afford a car, it was only because she had latched onto Dylan and become his plaything. That had to be it.
Then, Katherine dialed a number.
When the call connected, Katherine sneered. "Hello, Gordon. Your daughter has really made it big. Not only is she driving a Mercedes, but she's also shacked up with a rich guy. She's working as his personal secretary here in Wye. Shouldn't you come and hit her up for some cash?"
Hanging up, Katherine's lips curled into a triumphant smile.
"Rebecca, I won't let you get away with this. I'll make you pay. I'll make you understand the consequences of crossing me, Katherine."
"You destroyed the Foster family. You think you can live happily ever after? Not a chance!"
............
Sitting in the car, Rebecca's phone suddenly rang.
She picked it up and saw an unknown number, her heart tightening slightly.
She hesitated for a moment before answering. "Hello."
A cacophony of noise came from the other end, as if from a bustling market, followed by a low, slurred voice. "Daughter, I'm coming for you. You can't escape. Hahahahaha…"
The man let out a sinister laugh.
Berton nodded. "Yes, Garcia's family. The information was leaked, and now the entire network knows. The Yates family has put out a five-million-dollar contract for the five of you."
Berton was not only a financial genius but also had a secret identity.
He had significant influence abroad and was an informant for an underworld network.
He had access to all information within the network, including who was hiring mercenaries, who was buying weapons, and who their targets were. He could get this information almost instantly.
That was why Rebecca had always felt that having Berton as a butler was a waste of his talents, but it certainly proved useful in critical moments.
This Garcia was really asking for it. She was so desperate for revenge that she'd hire a hitman.
Unfortunately for her, she had just picked a fight she couldn't win.
Rebecca thought for a moment, then smiled. "In that case, let's give Garcia a little surprise."
Berton's eyes were resolute. "Yes, ma'am."
