A little over ten minutes later, Samuel received a message from his subordinate and turned to Rebecca. "Becky, I found out who called you just now."
Rebecca was slightly surprised by Samuel's efficiency.
A wave of curiosity washed over her as she looked at him and asked, "Who was it?"
Samuel turned to her, his expression serious. "Gordon Zade. Do you know him?"
Rebecca frowned, thinking hard for a moment before shaking her head. "No."
Samuel continued, "The number is registered in Nion. Do you think this person could be connected to the Foster family?"
Rebecca genuinely didn't know the name. She furrowed her brow, lost in thought. "If it were Hogan Foster or Jane Smith Foster, they'd be direct, even if it was just to curse me out. They wouldn't be so roundabout."
Besides the Fosters, she couldn't think of any other enemies she had.
Maybe they were overthinking it this time. Perhaps it really was just a wrong number.
"It was probably just a mistake, Samuel. Don't worry about it."
Hearing this, Samuel nodded. "Alright."
The next day, Rebecca went to the office as usual.
She was completely unaware that a van had been following her the entire time.
The man inside wore a faded, dark blue denim jacket and a black baseball cap, giving off an air that was both mysterious and somewhat scruffy.
His hands expertly handled the steering wheel. He was a skilled driver, keeping a consistent distance from Rebecca's car.
His eyes were glued to his target ahead, as if Rebecca were prey he was determined to catch.
He tailed her all the way to the office.
Watching Rebecca enter the building, the man emerged from behind a large pillar, revealing a stubble-covered face.
Rebecca organized a stack of documents, preparing to take them to the CEO's office.
However, just as she was about to knock, Director Porter hurried over.
"Raina, let me take that. I'll deliver it to the CEO," Director Porter said quickly.
Rebecca replied, "Director Porter, these files contain some project details and a few of my own ideas. I'd like to report to the CEO personally."
But Director Porter was firm. "No need. You can just tell me, and I'll communicate it for you."
Rebecca frowned, thinking Director Porter was acting strangely.
Usually, he would have her handle these small tasks. What was different today?
At that moment, Director Porter glanced around. Seeing no one nearby, he leaned in and whispered to Rebecca, "Raina, the CEO gave an order. From now on, I'm to handle all reports. He also said no female employees are allowed in or out of his office."
Director Porter's voice was low, but every word reached Rebecca's ears clearly, leaving her momentarily stunned.
