The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 488

Rebecca barely batted an eye. “I’m not afraid of trouble. If she dares to frame you, then I can’t just let her get away with it. I’ll get to the bottom of this and clear your name, no matter what.”

Isabella was so moved her eyes turned red. She hugged Rebecca tightly, her voice trembling with emotion. “Thank you, Rebecca. I’m so lucky to have a friend like you.”

Rebecca just smiled, gave her a reassuring pat on the back, then pulled out her phone and sent William a quick message.

……

Meanwhile, Dylan finished accompanying his grandfather through a round of tests. Apart from some high blood pressure, the old man was in remarkably good shape—strong and healthy, with nothing serious to worry about.

Dylan finally allowed himself a small sigh of relief. As long as his grandfather was well, he could relax.

Just as he was about to leave, Mrs. Austin caught him by the arm. “Dylan, since you’re already here, why don’t you get a checkup with the men’s health specialist?”

The moment she spoke, Dylan realized he’d been set up; the two of them had schemed together all day just to get him to hear this.

He frowned, obvious irritation in his voice. “I’m not going.”

Mrs. Austin clicked her tongue, clearly displeased by his refusal. “What’s wrong with you? I went to all that trouble to get you an appointment. Dr. Leo hardly ever takes new patients. Do you know how much effort it took for me to book him? Are you going or not?”

Her voice rang out loud and clear, drawing curious glances from people nearby.

Dylan’s face darkened. The last thing he wanted was to argue with Mrs. Austin in public, becoming the center of attention like some circus act.

He gritted his teeth and said, “Fine, I’ll go. But after this, can you please stop pestering me?”

Without waiting for a reply, Dylan strode off, determined to get this farce over with as quickly as possible.

Mrs. Austin perked up immediately, calling after him, “Dylan, wait up! The office is on the third floor—I’ll take you to see the doctor.”
