The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 373

Berton was undeniably attractive—charming, even. The kind of good looks that could turn heads in any room.

Still, Dennis couldn’t help but worry about what might happen at home if Mr. Austin stayed away too long. What if something went wrong while he was gone…

Dylan, on the other end of the call, was clearly losing patience. “Spit it out.”

Dennis braced himself and finally confessed, “Mr. Austin, your… your wife has hired a new house manager. Young guy. Quite handsome, actually.”

There was a pause on the other end. Silence stretched for a few seconds.

Then Dylan’s voice, calm and unreadable, came through. “How handsome?”

Dennis hesitated, then quickly replied, “Nowhere near as handsome as you, sir!”

He was no stranger to flattery, and it came easily. Sure, Berton was good-looking, but compared to Mr. Austin? Not even close.

Dylan didn’t seem to care, brushing off the news like it was nothing. “It’s just a house manager. As long as he’s competent, his age and looks don’t matter.”

Without another word, Dylan ended the call—completely unfazed.

Dennis stared at his phone in silence for a moment. If Mr. Austin wasn’t worried, why should he be? He was acting like a nervous butler when the king himself was perfectly composed.

He shook his head. Best to just do his own job and let the rest go.

Ever since Rebecca had taken on several new projects, her days had become a whirlwind of activity—she barely had time to breathe.

Chapter 373 2

After clinching the deal with Justin, Rebecca even made a personal visit to the project site.

By coincidence, she ran into Justin himself. He greeted her with the utmost respect, praising her abilities and treating her as an equal—never just a secretary.

Of course, Justin’s polite attitude was rooted in suspicion; he couldn’t help but wonder if there was something special going on between Rebecca and Dylan.

During small talk, he tried to fish for gossip, subtly probing for any hint of secrets outsiders might not know.

But Rebecca was adept at sidestepping his questions, neither confirming nor denying any kind of relationship with Dylan. By the end, Justin was left completely baffled.

Her brother Lionel, on the other hand, only realized after the deal was done that Justin and Dylan had played him like a fiddle. But by then, it was far too late.
