The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 329

Rebecca waited for what felt like ages, only for Dylan to shake his head and mutter, “No need.”

“No need for what?” she asked, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Dylan rubbed his temples, as if fighting off a splitting headache, and said slowly, “No need to go to a hotel. I have a home. Take me to... to Sunset Villa Estates.”

“What?” Rebecca stared at him in disbelief. What was he thinking? At a time like this, he wanted to go all the way to Sunset Villa Estates?

He must be completely drunk.

She hurried to protest, “Let’s just get you to a hotel. It’s closer.”

But before she could reach for him, Dylan pulled his hand away, deliberately keeping his distance. His tone turned cold and slightly offended. “I have a wife.”

Rebecca blinked, not quite following. Before she could respond, Dylan added, “Call my wife.”

It finally clicked—he was worried she’d drag him off to a hotel and take advantage of him?

Honestly, in his drunken state, he was the last person she’d be interested in.

Still, she had to admit, even drunk out of his mind, Dylan was surprisingly loyal. He could barely stand but still remembered he had a wife.

While Rebecca was mulling this over, Dylan fished his phone out of his pocket, fumbling to make a call.

She panicked, worried he’d accidentally dial her number instead of his wife’s, and quickly pressed her hand over his phone. “Forget it. I’ll take you myself. It’s so late—no need to bother your wife…”

Dylan shot her a strange look, his words suddenly icy. “Raina, it’s late. Isn’t it more inappropriate for you?”

“I—” Rebecca was at a loss, completely stumped by his logic.

Finally, a taxi pulled over. She eased Dylan into the back seat, sliding in beside him.

Inside, she kept glancing over, watching as Dylan slumped against the window, eyes closed and pale.

“Mr. Austin, if you feel sick, let me know, okay?” she said softly.

Dylan cracked open an eye and managed, “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

The words had barely left his mouth when he suddenly threw up all over her.

Rebecca’s face twisted in shock and outrage. She hadn’t seen that coming.

But before she could say a word, the cab driver exploded. “What the hell? Your husband just barfed all over my car! Look at this mess!”
