The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 182

At Dennis’s words, the others ignored her completely.

Mrs. Austin looked around and saw that nobody was paying her any attention. The feeling of being left out only made her more aggrieved and furious. She dropped heavily onto the couch, her face twisted in indignation.

The memory of her ordeal earlier that day at Sunset Villa Estates—especially being chased by that goose—made her feel even more wronged. No one seemed to care; not a single person was on her side.

After making sure his parents were settled, Dylan left for the office.

Meanwhile, Dennis made his way to Sunset Villa Estates. By the time he arrived, Rebecca and the four little ones were just sitting down for dinner.

When Rebecca saw Dennis at the door, she greeted him warmly. “Dennis, come on in and eat with us!”

Dennis hurriedly waved her off. “No, ma’am, thank you. I’m not hungry. I just came by to see how things were going.”

But the four kids were having none of it. In perfect unison, they piped up, “Mr. Dennis, have dinner with us, please! Don’t be shy!”

Their wide-eyed innocence and adorable faces completely melted Dennis’s resolve. He had meant to decline, but under the power of those hopeful little gazes, he couldn’t refuse. With a smile, he relented, “Alright, alright. I’ll join you for dinner.”

He sat down at the table with them and began to eat.

During the meal, Dennis couldn’t help but marvel. “You kids are really something else,” he said, shaking his head in admiration.

Aiden lifted his little face and responded, “Uncle, we’re very well-behaved!”

It was too cute for words.

Once dinner was over, Dennis stood and said his goodbyes to the kids, a little reluctant to leave. “Alright, little ones, Uncle has to go now. I’ll come see you again soon, okay?”

All four waved enthusiastically. “Uncle, you have to come visit more often!”

Dennis grinned from ear to ear. “I promise, I’ll come by all the time.”

After leaving Sunset Villa Estates, Dennis went straight to report to Dylan.

“Mr. Austin, I’ve looked into it. Madam didn’t order anyone to put up those flyers, and her day-to-day activities are pretty normal—mostly spending time with the kids or going out for shopping and beauty treatments,” Dennis said.

Dylan didn’t question it for a moment. “Alright, got it.”
