The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 152

Dylan didn’t hesitate another second—he turned on his heel and walked away without looking back.

At the dining table, Ethan swung his little legs back and forth, then said, “You better do a good job. If you mess this up, you’re in big trouble.”

The man nodded and bowed, eager to please. “Don’t worry, I’ll give it my all!”

Noah added, his tone serious, “Just do exactly as we told you. If you pull this off, there’s a reward in it for you.”

The man rubbed his hands together in excitement. “Absolutely, just wait and see!”

Ethan gave him a stern warning, “Don’t screw this up, or you’ll have to pay all the money back.”

The man thumped his chest in assurance. “No way, I’m reliable! I’ve got this! I’ll go now…”

With that, he hurried off toward the private lounge, barely able to contain himself.

The four kids exchanged glances, their eyes twinkling with satisfaction.

Aiden was the first to break the silence. “Are we sure this is going to work?”

Ethan flashed a confident grin. “Of course it will! This is called fighting fire with fire. If she can set Dad up with women, then we can set her up with old men. Once Grumpy Granny is too busy dealing with her own problems, she won’t have time to meddle in ours!”

Evan, a little worried, frowned. “But… what if that guy’s too ugly? What if Grumpy Granny won’t even look at him?”

Ethan waved off his concern. “Doesn’t matter. If she rejects this one, we’ll just find another. Eventually, someone will catch her eye.”

Evan nodded in agreement. “Yeah, if this one doesn’t work, we’ll just keep trying.”

Ethan’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Once Grumpy Granny’s busy fending off all those men, she won’t bother Dad anymore. Then Dad and Mom can finally be together.”

Noah, ever the cautious one, tempered their excitement. “Let’s not celebrate just yet. It’s too early to know if this will really work.”

Aiden chimed in, “Come on, we planned everything so carefully. It has to work.”

Ethan was quick to back him up. “Exactly! This time, nothing can go wrong. Let’s just deal with Grumpy Granny first and worry about the rest later.”

Aiden shook his head. “We’re full, Mom.”

Evan chimed in, “Me too, Mom. Can we go for a walk in the park?”

Rebecca nodded, and with that, she gathered her four little ones and left the restaurant.

Meanwhile, back in the lounge, Mrs. Austin was still waiting for Dylan to return. Instead, she received a text from him: he’d already left.

Fury flashed across Mrs. Austin’s face. That boy! He just up and left without saying a word.

She was just trying to figure out how she’d explain this to Garcia when the door suddenly burst open with a bang.

A man charged in, breathless. “Ma’am—”

Mrs. Austin, startled by the commotion, snapped, her expression darkening, “Who are you? Where are your manners?”
