The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 124

Time ticked by, but the problem remained stubbornly unsolved. Dylan’s patience was wearing dangerously thin. He raised his voice again, nearly shouting, “How much longer until things are back to normal?”

The head of IT shook his head helplessly. “Mr. Austin, we’ve done everything we can. This GigglesBub is on a whole other level, we—”

Dylan cut him off mid-sentence. “I don’t want excuses. I want results.”

Just then, Dennis came back from a phone call, his face grim. “Mr. Austin, I reached out to some of the best hackers in the country, but the moment they heard it was GigglesBub, none of them would touch it.”

Dylan’s scowl deepened. He sank into his chair and rubbed his temples, every line of his face shadowed with frustration.

Who the hell was this GigglesBub, that even the elite of the hacker world were too scared to get involved?

He couldn’t make sense of it. Why had they suddenly been hit with such a brutal cyberattack? Was it a rival’s revenge? Or was there something bigger at play?

But honestly, it wasn’t the company’s losses that enraged him. Losing a few hundred million was nothing—he had more than enough money to burn.

What truly infuriated him was that this so-called hacking genius, GigglesBub, was clearly targeting him, making it personal.

Could it be Samuel? No way. He didn’t have the skills.

For years, Dylan had ruled the business world, building his own commercial empire from the ground up. No one could match him—rival or partner, they all bowed to his authority. No one dared to challenge him, not even Samuel, who’d been crushed by Dylan more than once.

No one even dared raise their voice to him, let alone challenge him outright.

Yet now, he was being taunted by a mysterious hacker, and the worst part was, not even the best IT experts at his disposal were any match for GigglesBub.

Dylan was seething, but he had nowhere to vent his anger.

The entire company seemed blanketed in gloom. No one dared breathe too loud.

“Mr. Austin,” the IT chief spoke up again, “we’ve noticed that GigglesBub seems to know a lot about our core business. Their attacks are very targeted.”

Whispers started to spread among the staff.

“This is insane. Who has that kind of skill?”

“I know, right? Feels like we’re trapped in some kind of nightmare.”

“Do you think Mr. Austin’s pissed off someone way out of his league?”

“They mentioned the Babyville Clan. Did Mr. Austin really mess with them? That message basically told him to watch his back…”

“Yeah. Guess he’d better take the warning seriously…”

The murmurs faded into uneasy silence.
