“Ethan, button up your coat.”
“Okay, Mommy.” Ethan ducked his head and, with his tiny hands, carefully fastened each button.
Rebecca couldn’t resist giving his chubby cheek a gentle pinch.
All four boys were stars at Royal Sprouts Preschool. The moment they stepped outside, a wave of whispers and gasps rippled through the crowd.
“Wow, those quadruplets are adorable! Their mom must have saved the universe in a past life to have such gorgeous kids.”
All eyes turned to Rebecca, and suddenly, everything made sense.
“No wonder the quadruplets are so cute—their mom looks like she just stepped out of a fairytale.”
“Look at her skin! It’s like porcelain, and she’s got the figure of a supermodel. Honestly, she’s perfect…”
“With a woman that stunning, no wonder she has four little heart-breakers…”
“If only I had a wife that beautiful… Those kids’ dad is the real winner in life.”
The voices overlapped, each remark more awed than the last. A few bold young men openly stared at Rebecca, their gazes lingering in a way that made Noah bristle. With a frown, he shot them a frosty glare.
Instantly, the crowd’s enthusiasm faded, and people looked away.
Whoa, this little guy’s got a serious aura!
Rebecca ignored the attention, taking each of her sons by the hand and leading them toward their car.
The boys climbed into the back seat, buckled their seatbelts, and settled in without complaint.
Rebecca joined them and told the driver to pull away from the preschool.
Inside the car, the boys immediately launched into a lively conversation, swapping stories and laughing. Their chatter made Rebecca smile in spite of herself.
“Mommy, I’m going to win first place at the next school sports day!” Noah declared, full of determination.
Rebecca ruffled his hair. “I know you will, Noah. You’re amazing.”
All four boys were bundles of energy, always roughhousing at home, but when it came to competition, they gave it their all.
“Mommy, I want to grow really tall. When we’re big, all four of us can team up and defeat the bad guys!” Ethan cheered, pumping his fist.
Rebecca blinked, momentarily caught off guard. She’d just been wondering how to explain things, and Aiden had already figured out so much on his own.
She smiled and gently stroked his hair. “You didn’t make me sad, sweetheart. Having you four little angels is more than enough for me.”
“We’re happy with you too, Mommy!” the boys chimed in, sitting up straight and dropping the subject.
Rebecca glanced at her four sweet boys, a smile tugging at her lips.
“How about some ice cream today, guys? My treat.”
“Yay! You’re the best, Mommy!”
The boys erupted in cheers, reaching their hands out in unison. “Long live Mommy!”
As they passed a bakery, Rebecca tousled their hair with a laugh. “Be good and wait here, okay? I’ll run in to pick up a cake and then buy you some ice cream.”
“Okay!” they sang out, their voices bright and cheerful.
Warmth spread through Rebecca’s chest as she glanced back at them, her smile lingering.
