The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 102

Hearing those words, Aiden felt a little better.

Ethan chimed in to comfort him. “Yeah, Aiden, maybe our stepdad’s just busy right now. I’m sure when he’s done, he’ll come see us.”

Evan quickly changed his tune. “Aiden, don’t be sad. If he really doesn’t like us, then who cares? We don’t need a stepdad anyway.”

“Exactly!” Ethan agreed. “We’re not desperate for a stepdad, you know!”

Aiden lifted his head, looking at Noah, Ethan, and Evan. “Thanks, guys. I get it. But… I still want to know what our stepdad looks like.”

That got all the boys curious.

Noah thought for a moment, then decided to grant Aiden’s small wish. “No problem. I’ll look him up. Actually, I want to see for myself if this guy is good enough for our mom.”

Aiden’s face finally lit up with a smile.

Noah was a whiz with computers; his fingers danced confidently over the keyboard. In no time, he’d pulled up everything there was to know about Dylan.

Dylan’s background had always been a well-kept secret—nobody on the outside had ever managed to dig up anything about him. But right now, all those hidden details were laid bare for Noah to see.

“Whoa, so that’s what he looks like,” Aiden gasped as he stared at the screen.

Evan made a face. “Eh, he’s nothing special. Not as handsome as me, anyway.”

Ethan craned his neck to get a better look. “Well, what do you think? Is he actually good enough for Mom?”

Noah scrolled through Dylan’s records and achievements, frowning thoughtfully. “This guy’s got the strongest genes in all of Wye. He’s definitely a match for Mom.”

Evan squinted at Dylan’s photo, studying it carefully and rubbing his chin. “Really? I still think I’m more handsome.”

The other three ignored him. Noah kept digging through the files, his frown deepening.

By now, suspicion had already taken root in Noah’s mind. He was almost certain—this Dylan had to be their biological father.

Noah’s face grew serious. “Turns out, he’s a big-shot CEO. His net worth is off the charts—even more impressive than Uncle Samuel.”

Ethan pumped his little fist. “So what? If he’s not good to Mom, I don’t care how powerful he is.”

Aiden nodded firmly. “Yeah, all that matters is that Mom’s happy.”

After a while, Noah closed the laptop, his tone grave. “Looks like it’s time we paid Dylan a visit.”
