Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1696

It was well past midnight when Mia pulled everyone into a group chat. All the women knew each other, so naturally, things got rowdy fast. Instead of sleeping, they started showing off the flowers they'd gotten for Valentine’s Day, posting pics and hyping each other up. Soon, it turned into an all-out vote: whose man delivered the prettiest bouquet?

Conner was propped up against the headboard, arm slung around Annie’s shoulders, watching the drama unfold on her phone.

He snorted, “Andre’s got nothing on me. Look at his bouquet—not even a hint of Valentine’s Day spirit.”

Annie chimed in, “But Andre picked those out with their little boy. That’s adorable.”

When the votes were tallied, Molly’s flowers swept the board. No contest.

Jade, oozing pride, wrote, “Told you! Chad’s got the best eye. All those years shopping with me finally paid off.”

Conner jabbed at his phone, all mock indignation. “Who brings white roses to Valentine’s? That’s just bad luck. Seriously, ladies—where’s your taste? And Chad’s pink bouquet? Sure, it’s cute, but it doesn’t pop. Milka’s red roses? Too flashy, you see those everywhere. Anya got a bouquet with ferns mixed in—what’s that supposed to mean? Don’t even get me started on Andre’s. At least ours looks the best.”

Annie tried to calm him down. “I never said ours wasn’t beautiful. I love it. Don’t get riled up.”

“Then who did you vote for?”

Annie hesitated. Silence.

Conner squinted at her. “Well? What’s that look for?”

Officer Chapman tried to defend herself, “It felt weird to vote for myself, okay? So I picked Molly. But—” She shot Conner a mischievous glance. “—I love our bouquet the most, I swear.”

“Then why didn’t you post it on Facebook?” Conner pressed.

Annie fumbled, “Well, I, uh… didn’t want to make anyone jealous.”

He grinned, “Don’t worry. I’m yours for life. No one’s getting between us. Go ahead and post it.”

Conner recapped the whole late-night flower showdown. “You lost too, just so you know.”

Mars went quiet. “So what did Chad get her?”

After checking out Molly’s Facebook, Mars echoed Conner’s gripe from earlier. “That’s what won? Seriously? What are these women thinking? Not even lucky.”

The two guys spent a good fifteen minutes griping over the phone.

“Hey, Conner, where’s Lizzy?”

Conner sighed, “Annie says if it’s hotter than ninety-five or colder than fifty, Lizzy can’t be near me.”

Mars laughed. “So you and Lizzy only get spring and fall, huh? No summer or winter for you.”
