Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1697

“Did you and Milka patch things up last night or what?”

Mars started grumbling again, clearly annoyed. “No, someone’s trying to swoop in on my girl.”

At the office.

Mars had dropped Milka off that morning, and insisted on leaving the huge bouquet of roses he’d bought the day before right in the middle of her desk.

Never mind how childish that was. Milka groaned, “You bought way too many flowers. They’re taking up half my workspace—I can’t even get to my keyboard.”

Mars immediately offered to buy a smaller bouquet, but Milka tugged him back. The two bickered for a minute, and Milka finally stormed off to work, still fuming.

But after she cooled off, all she could think about was that jealous man. She was just wondering how to make up with Mars when her phone rang. “Hello, I didn’t order any coffee.”

Downstairs, she spotted a delivery guy with coffee and pastries.

This time, Milka was careful—she didn’t want to accept the wrong package again.

She called Mars right away. “Did you send this?”

“Yeah. You won’t let me buy you flowers, so can’t I at least treat you to some coffee and snacks?”

Milka couldn’t help but smile and took the treats upstairs.

On the 23rd floor, she stepped out of the elevator and called, “Anya!”

Anya came running, eyes bright. “What’s up, Milka?”

Milka handed her a cup. “Your uncle bought coffee. Here’s one for you.”

Anya grinned. “Thanks, Milka!”

“Thank him, not me,” Milka said, heading back into the elevator.

Anya chirped, “If it weren’t for you, I’d never get to drink Uncle Mars’s coffee! See you later, Milka.”

“Lunch at the usual spot,” Milka called as the doors closed.

Back in the office, Milka started divvying up the coffee and pastries.

“Is this from your ex again?” a coworker teased. “Yesterday it was flowers, today it’s coffee… Looks like you two might get back together!”

But at least Uncle Mars really did send flowers. Honestly, Anya was almost happier than if she’d gotten flowers herself.

“Silly girl,” Milka teased, “If you keep this up, when I get married I’ll have to drag you along as my bridesmaid.”

Anya scrunched her nose. “But I’ve already been a bridesmaid twice!”

Then she brightened. “Oh! Stephania’s coming back from abroad soon—I saw it on her Facebook last night.”

Milka blinked. She had no idea who Stephania was.

So Anya started filling her in.

Meanwhile, Mia was out again.

She’d been gone so often that at first, Hansen just figured she was hitting the library. But after a while, he started to get suspicious. “Henry, where’s Mia?”

Henry shook his head, “Grandpa, I have no idea where she’s gone.”

“Hey now, don’t call your mom ‘the kid.’ Only Grandpa gets to say that, you hear?”
