Cruz chuckled self–deprecatingly, “Nicole left, and now I can’t find her. The one who forced her to leave was Angela, she was right under my nose, constantly targeting Nicole, forcing her not to come back to me!”

He wanted to see her kneeling in front of him, he wanted to see her jealous and envious, he wanted to see her willing to sacrifice even her life for him.

But now, Nicole has stepped out of this ridiculous game, only then did he realize how foolish his past actions were.

If he were given another chance, he would definitely not have asked for a divorce.

Cruz sat on the edge of the bed all night. The next day, the assistant walked over.

“Mr. Yarbrough, it’s been three days already, Ms. Simpson… if she doesn’t come out soon, she won’t make it.”

Angela huddled in the corner, holding her head, the confinement room filled with a foul stench. She seemed oblivious to it, muttering to

herself incessantly.

After a while, she finally noticed that there seemed to be light in front of her. Angela looked up and saw the wide–open door and Cruz outside. She rushed towards him as if grasping at a lifeline, grabbing onto Cruz’s pant leg and crying bitterly.

“Cruz, I know I was wrong! I shouldn’t have threatened Nicole, please forgive me, I really know I was wrong!”

She spent three days and three nights in the confinement room, which was more terrifying than any punishment she had received before. She cried and begged, her face full of tears.
