Chapter 19
When Cruz woke up again, he found himself lying in a strange environment. He was confused for a few seconds, then sat up suddenly. He remembered that he had passed out at Nicole’s doorstep Was it now proof that she had taken care of him?
His heart was immediately filled with joy and excitement. Cruz carefully got out of bed, wanting to sneak a peek at her. Just as he walked into the living room, he saw a busy figure in the kitchen
It was Nicole.
His heart warmed, and the emotions of regaining what was once lost surged within him.
He wanted to go over immediately, tightly embrace her in his arms and tell her his love for her over the years, letting her not worry anymore. But as he took just two steps forward, he saw another person in the kitchen, who took his place and hugged Nicole from behind directly.
“Don’t make noise, I was still cooking soup.”
“Is the soup for your ex–husband, Mrs., Nicole? You are already divorced.”
“It’s for you to drink. Didn’t you say you wanted to drink this soup yesterday?”
“Then I wanted you to feed me.”
Nicole smiled helplessly, scooped up a spoonful and blev
1 it to cool
it down before handing it to the man’s mouth. She watched as he drank
How could Nicole make such a face at someone else? She used to only cook soup for herself, whenever he was sick, Nicole would spend hours making a small bowl of soup, and even blow it cool little by little, feeding it to his mouth. As long as he drank it, she would smile with her eyes and eyebrows curved. How did this person become another man now?
He couldn’t believe the scene in front of him, staring blankly for a long time before finally speaking with a hoarse voice.
“Nicole…”
His voice abruptly interrupted the two people. Nicole turned around, no longer with a gentle expression, but coldly facing him.
“Now that you’re awake, let’s go, Cruz. If you end up passed out on my doorstep again next time, for whatever reason, I won’t be helping you.”
Cruz was stabbed in the heart by her indifference, as if an invisible hand tightly gripped his heart, making it difficult for him to breathe.
It was clearly a case of lost and found, clearly a long time no see, but Nicole didn’t look happy at all, she… she even loathed herself.
Cruz suddenly realized this meaning, he was very scared, how could Nicole hate him, and how could she be with another man?
Various complex emotions were active in his chest, and he took a deep breath before he managed to restrain himself.
“We had only been divorced for a few months, and you already have a new love… But as soon as he spoke, he couldn’t control his jealousy and bitterness.”

Nicole remained silent.
Looking at the person in front of her, she really didn’t expect Cruz to find his way here. But seeing him, she had no extra emotions except for strangeness. It was as if all the disappointment and love had been completely worn away in the past.
Even when faced with his questions, she didn’t feel anything.
