Lilian stared at her disconnected phone, her gaze turning cold. Fiancée? Since when did Sebastian have a fiancée? If that woman held that title, then who was she? She immediately tried redialing the number, but the phone had already been switched off.
Meanwhile, in Murica.
Inside the Chairman’s office at Austine Financial Group.
Everly stood by the desk, staring down at the phone in her hand with a chilling expression. She deleted the most recent call log, blocked the number, and then carefully placed the device back exactly where she had found it. She acted as if nothing had happened.
When the phone had originally started ringing, she hadn't intended to answer. However, as if possessed, she had walked over to the desk and glanced at the caller ID.
The moment she saw the name, her instinct told her this was the same Lilian from over a year ago—the woman who had humiliated her and the woman who had stolen Sebastian.
She had answered the call on impulse to claim her territory. After all, they were indeed about to be engaged, so she wasn't technically lying. Just imagining the look on that little brat’s face at this moment felt incredibly satisfying.
Suddenly, the office door swung open. Sebastian entered, and his eyes darkened the moment he saw the woman standing by his desk. "Who gave you permission to be in here?" he demanded.
