At a restaurant just outside the university campus.
After placing their order and handing the menu back to the waiter, Cameron turned to Lilian to play up his misery. "The promotion for The God of War is almost wrapped up, and now we’re just waiting for the release. I followed your lead and invested a massive chunk of my assets into this. If I don't see a return, I won't even have a pair of trousers left to my name."
Lilian remained composed, a calm smile playing on her lips. "Relax. Do you really think I’d let you lose everything? Besides, since when did you invest your entire net worth? You only took a twenty percent stake. Don't tell me that’s all the great Cameron is worth."
Cameron chuckled. "I was being hyperbolic. While that twenty percent isn't everything, it still represents about eighty percent of my liquid assets."
Lilian shot him an exasperated look. "If you’re that worried, how about you transfer that stake back to me? I’ll give you the cash value right now, and it’ll be as if you never invested. That way, you won't have to lose sleep over it."
Cameron immediately changed his tune, flashing a fawning smile. "I was just talking! Please don't take me seriously. I’m still counting on this venture of yours to make me a fortune."
Lilian gave him a playful, reproving look. "Don't worry. You’re Sebastian’s best friend; I’m not about to scam you, am I?"
"Alright, with that assurance, I can finally breathe easy," Cameron said. He then paused, a curious expression crossing his face. "By the way, where is Sebastian? I haven't seen him around lately."
Lilian’s expression dimmed instantly. "Something came up in Murica, so he went back to handle it. I still don't know the full story. I’ve tried calling him, but no one picks up, so I’m not sure how things are progressing."
Cameron offered a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about it. Sebastian can handle anything. Even when Austine Financial Group faced massive internal turmoil years ago, he managed to settle the whole thing single-handedly. Since then, no one in Murican high society has dared to cross him. He’s probably just in the middle of something critical or got delayed by business."
