I don’t need to explain the Mildew family’s current standing within the corporation; you should be able to figure that out for yourself.”

“What did you say?” Arlo gasped. “How could Callen possibly have forty percent? I had men monitoring him. There is no way he could have acquired another ten percent under our noses.”

Sebastian’s lips curled into a thin smile. “I helped him, of course. I told you once: either the Mildew family vanishes from this world, or I do. Have you forgotten my words so soon?”

Arlo stared at Sebastian with a look of pure loathing. “So, you and that old bastard Callen were in league from the very start. All of this was a plot to dismantle my family.”

“You are mistaken,” Sebastian countered, his smile turning frigid. “I gave you a chance at the beginning, but you threw it away. you had reined George in the moment you learned he had kidnapped my fiancée, none of this would have happened. Unfortunately, you placed too much faith in your son. The Mildew family’s downfall is entirely self–inflicted.”

Arlo’s gaze turned icy. “It seems you are determined to see us wiped off the map of Radovia.”

“I told you,” Sebastian said, his voice hard and uncompromising, “anyone who crosses my line will live to regret it. I do not stop until my goal is achieved.”

Arlo took a deep, shaky breath. “Fine. Then we shall see how this plays out.” He stood up to leave.

Beside him, Stellan spoke up quickly. “Father! Yvette and the others are still missing!”

Arlo froze, then turned back to Sebastian. “Yvette and the children are innocent. They had nothing to do with any of this. I expect you to release them, Mr. Whitmore.”
