Sebastian released her slightly, meeting her gaze. “Rest easy, George is in custody. I had Fawks put the pressure on the local authorities; they are set to deliver a verdict tomorrow.”

“That fast?” Lillian asked, surprised. She had expected the legal process to drag on much longer.

Sebastian ran his fingers gently through her hair. “Leonard is a premier medical expert in Dracovia, so his situation caught the immediate attention of the highest leadership back home. They demanded a formal resolution within three days, leaving Radovia with no choice but to act. However, because Leonard remains unconscious, the charges are currently limited to aggravated assault. It may be difficult to secure a life sentence.”

A sharp coldness flickered in Lillian’s eyes. “A life sentence would be too good for him. I want him to experience the fall from grace personally–to feel the transition from heaven to hell. I intend to collect every debt he owes for what he did to my master, one by one, until he regrets every breath he takes. If I’m not mistaken, the pill I gave him yesterday should be taking effect by now. Even if he ever walks free, he will be nothing more than a hollow shell. He’s the one who views people as either ‘useful‘ or ‘useless,‘ isn’t he? Fine. I’ll let him taste what it’s like to be treated as garbage by the rest of the world.”

Sebastian looked at her with pained tenderness. “I’ve already spoken to Fawks. I’ll ensure his time behind bars is as miserable as possible.”

The mere thought of her master lying in a coma because of that man made Lillian’s blood boil with hatred.

Just then, a knock sounded at the bedroom door.

Foster stepped in. “Sir, Arlo has arrived.”

Sebastian’s brow furrowed, his expression instantly turning frigid. “What is he doing here?”

Lillian gave a cold laugh. “George faces sentencing tomorrow, and the Mildew family is currently drowning in scandal. He’s likely desperate and hopes you’ll show them some mercy.”

Sebastian leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Don’t worry about the rest; I’ll handle it. Take your time getting ready, and I’ll take you out for a meal once I’m done with him.”

“I understand,” Lillian nodded.

Sebastian stepped out into the lounge, where Arlo and his two sons sat on the sofa, their faces etched with grim resolve.

“Arlo,” Sebastian said, his tone biting. “I didn’t think we had anything left to discuss.”

Arlo looked up as the younger man approached. “Mr. Whitmore, I won’t beat around the bush today. I’m here to ask you to give. George a chance. I know he is in the wrong, and I realize I have no right to ask for your forgiveness. However, as his father, I take full responsibility for the man he has become. I am willing to bear the consequences in his stead.”

Sebastian sat on the opposite sofa, his gaze freezing. “Oh? And how exactly do you plan to shoulder the burden for your son’s crimes?”
