Uriel suddenly remembered. “Oh these suitcases are all gifts I brought back for Lilian. I figured girls these days love clothes and bags so I had these custom made overseas.”

She turned to Lilian with an eager smile. “I didn’t know what colors you liked so I pretty much got you every shade and style imaginable. A girl should always look her best. You have no idea. My biggest regret in life was never having a daughter. I only had this boy so I never got to shop for girl’s clothes. Now that you are here I can finally live out that dream.”

Sebastian watched his mother go on and on before shooting Derrick a look that clearly said to get his wife out of there.

Derrick caught the hint and walked over to Uriel putting an arm around her shoulder. “Alright we aren’t leaving anytime soon. You will have plenty of time to chat with Lilian. Right now we need to focus on getting things settled.”

Uriel tapped her forehead. “Look at me. I got so excited seeing Lilian that I completely blanked on the important stuff. When are we heading to the hospital to see your father?”

Sebastian frowned. “Don’t rush it. Let me call my uncle tomorrow and check on Grandpa’s condition first. He shouldn’t be under any stress right now and we are worried that seeing Dad might get him too worked up.”

Derrick nodded. “That makes sense. We should definitely coordinate first. Just let me know once you have talked to him.”

“Will do” Sebastian said. “But don’t worry too much. Grandpa is stable. With the medicine Lilian made for him he is recovering fast. He should be up and walking before long.”

“That’s a relief” Uriel said. “By the way have you found any leads yet?”

Sebastian’s expression chilled. “Foster hasn’t turned up anything solid yet. Whoever is behind this is incredibly meticulous and left almost no trail. But since they went through the trouble of mailing those photos all the way to Murica it is clear the target is you. They know exactly where you are and what you are doing.”

Derrick looked genuinely lost. He couldn’t wrap his head around who it could be or what they were actually trying to achieve.

Seeing them all stuck in a rut Lilian hesitated before speaking up. “Have you considered that Renee might be behind this?”
