Sebastian watched the girl’s playful expression and finally gave in. “This is the last time. Otherwise I am picking you up myself from now on.”
“Deal” Lilian chirped. She set the bowl of soup in front of him.
Sebastian took a careful sip while Lilian sat beside him waiting for his reaction. “Well?” she asked.
The man nodded. “It is good.”
Just then another knock came at the door and Louis hurried in. “Sir Mr. Derrick and Madam Uriel are back.”
“What?” Sebastian looked up in shock. He had expected his father to take at least a couple of weeks to mull it over. He never thought that after their morning call they would be back the same day.
Lilian was just as surprised.
The two of them rushed downstairs. As they reached the hall a group of staff entered with luggage followed by a couple. It was indeed Derrick and Uriel.
“Dad Mom. How are you back so soon?” Sebastian asked.
Uriel shot her son a look. “How could we stay away after what happened to your grandfather? Besides someone went to the trouble of mailing those photos to Murica just to taunt us. If we stayed put they would think we were scared. Your father and I talked it over and decided it was time to come home.”
“She is right” Derrick added. “The more I thought about it the more I realized whoever is behind this must be here in Dracovia. They hit your grandfather this time but there is no telling who is next. It is better to be here and handle it than to wait for news in Murica. And honestly I am worried about him. He is still my father. He might have disowned me but he is the man who raised me.”
“It is probably for the best” Sebastian said. “Grandpa will be happy to see you. I will have Louis get your rooms ready.”
“No need” Uriel cut in. “We called the South Villa on the way from the airport and told them to air out the rooms. We will stay there. You and Lilian are living together here. If your father and I moved in we would just be third wheels.”
She had originally thought Lilian was a bit young and that it would take a few years for them to get serious. She hadn’t expected her son to move this fast and already have the girl moved in.
Lilian’s face flushed. “You’ve got it all wrong. We’re just staying under the same roof. It’s not what you think.”
Uriel walked over and took Lilian’s hand giving it a reassuring pat with a warm smile. “Relax you don’t need to explain anything to me I’m not some prude. You’re engaged so it’s only natural for you to live together. I was your age once too so there’s no need to be shy If you happen to have a little accident and get pregnant we’ll just get you married. If you’re too young to do it here we’ll just head back to Murica and make it official.”
Lilian stood there speechless. Her future mother–in–law really had no filter.
Seeing the girl’s utter embarrassment Sebastian pulled her into his side. “Mom don’t worry about that You should focus on Dad before he gets jealous again.”
Unel rolled her eyes at her son “Stop trying to start trouble Your father and I have been together forever What is there to be jealous about? I am just trying to make sure you get lilian into the family as soon as possible”
